Title: Ingame automated messages
Post by: firefly on October 22, 2007, 03:39:30 PM
I've seen people say 'LOOL' with characters from the advanced name setup screen repeatedly. Is there a way to hotkey buttons to make them say the message of your choice

For example:
F1: Good Job Guys!
F2: N00B!
etc

Anyone know how to do that or anything like that?

WHAT HAVE YOU DOOOOONE??

Yeah, don't abuse this. Even a quickly-typed 'gj' or 'ns' is better than the binded colorful '#@!GOOD JOB TEAM!@#' or whatever the hell you'll put.

Open up your configs(if you know how) and do as bitmate told you. ;)

But seriously watch yourself with these, don't abuse it and annoy the crap out of people.

*eradicator- um......oops?

:o

firefly: please, please do not spam "@LOL!!!!@"  or anything even close to it. That kind of stuff really gets on my nerves. In fact, message binds in general tick me off.

DO NOT USE COLORS IN YOUR BINDS Dx That's really annoying, and it's really fake.

By the way, how do you bind the function keys (F1-F12)? Is it just "bind F5 say_team BD!!"?

I feel like adding fuel to the fire...

to make your bind nice and colorful, hit ctrl+k then a letter or number

Common ones:
ctrl+k+
white: 9
black: 0
green: shift+i
blue: shift+s
red: shift+a
yellow: shift+d
pink: shift+z

*runs away laughing maniacally*

Here's another way to bind keys so that you would not hit a bind by accident:

Code: [Select]
bind alt+F4 say Ahhh!
so when you press "alt" and "F4" at the same time, you will say "Ahhh!".

;)

Actually, nopyo, binds don't work that way.

...the point is, alt+F4 closes the game window.
