I would like to know how much costed the OTB server and the Subscription to Internet if it's not indiscreet
I was asking this question long time, because the server must cost very much if all the OTB servers are only on 1 PC or dedicated server
Thank you and Merry Christmas

$10 per month.
DP servers are very cheap on resources.
-
Ye, but the server itself cost how much ?
-
Who cares what the server costs... They simply rent a vps for around the above figure..
-
I jst want to know, so if you know awnser me please
You can awnser me for the [q]servers
-
hmm, think you misunderstand me w3b5t3r. They rent a virtual server (!google vps) from a server hosting company, and pay the about $10 per month for the privilage. They don't get to see the server, own it, know how much it costs etc...
-
10 $ is a little bit too cheap.
We pay 15 Euro ~ 22 $ per month.
-
Ok, I thought it was a dedicated server like this

Where did you rent it ?
I know I am pervading with my stupid questions but I want to know

www.google.com (http://www.google.com) ----> "VSERVER" <or> "ROOTSERVER"
-
Technically the server is run on a "dedicated server" but the clans do not actually have any possession over the "dedicated server." I know that jitspoe and the GT servers are rented from The Planet. So you would need to find another comany like that.

vps, virtual private server is the cheaper option to host dp servers on. A dedicated server is serious overkill KiLo, in terms of resources and price.
-
Well I was just using his terminology.
-
To clear up the terminology confusion:
Basically, there's co-location, managed hosting, and virtual private server. VPS uses virtiualization to some degree to make one server appear to be many, meaning the host company only has to maintain one set of hardware for many customers, while still allowing customers to have a "dedicated server." Managed hosting is a real dedicated server, but the people at the hosting company manage most of it for you. Co-location means you just buy a server and pay to have it stay in a data center connected to power, the Internet, and anything else available, but you have to take care of the rest.

Is this website good in terms of price and of functionning ?
-
You need a minimum of 256 MB of Dedicated RAM.
-
Ok.
The Planet is expensive ins't it ?
-
You'll want a French server anyway, so that you'll get a nice low ping :)
-
Yes, but I don't know any VPS french.
And I won't buy anything, I'm only 14 :P
