Title: Feature Request: Count on characters left for fun-name

One of the most common problems for new players is using too many colors and characters in their fun-name.   It would help a lot of people out if they could see a "____ characters left"   below the input box so they know when they've gone over their limit...

It will end one of the common problems players ask about getting kicked with their names...

Hm, this could only be done if a new menu format was introduced that could handle stuff like that.
Best option would probably be to have something like "Enter your name (Max x characters):"

true, that would be easier, and it would have to show what colors are worth and such  :P

yah, that wouldnt be quite as good.
what about something similar to the maxlength attribute for HTML text fields, where it would just stop accepting more characters if it was full?

Well, as Justinph5 pointed out, most people wouldnt consider the colors and other special characters.
The maxlenght would work tho.

well then, let's add a line of text somewhere around it saying how much colors and symbols count for.

There isn't all that much to say here. >.> Obviously, the 'length' would include color changes and such, as opposed to just letters and such.

I suggested notification a while back, and I believe it was Jitspoe who recommended just foregoing that and out-right limiting the character count.    I'm merging this with the aforementioned thread.
