Revamped server list with column-ordering, indications of a passworded server, larger size, etc.

I think this is very important. The current one is pretty terrrible, and bad for new players who don't use the server browser.

Yeah, people should probably prefix these with "Feature Request:" rather than "Feature:".

Didn't really look to hard or really try to find this, but how about an update to the server browser where we can filter by name, amount of players, ping, and make the overall window bigger?
Also something like ASE or GameSpy does when you highlight the server it shows who's in there.
Then I saw this thread yesterday and thought this would be pretty cool for these to be in place of each individual server.

The whole point of starting this thread is so I don't have to use another browser. I'd rather use ASE than that.

I don't know if the Player search feature is included for in-game play, so if it isn't, could a 'player search' feature and a 'server search' feature for the in-game menu be included in this request or a new one?

Just an idea, but could there be a list other than on the serverbrowser (i know people will say just to use that) that will show who's in the pub right next tot he list of servers on the Main Menu kinda like Steam?

As i cant post a comment in the other one with the feature vote link ill state what i think here.
Aswell as Colums for password servers i was just thinkin because dp is not a jump mod why not just bundle all jump servers into a colum? that way they are out the way and all the matchers and pubbers are able to access servers without jump servers in that area.
I just thought because if you had a colum for password servers all the pubs would be in one section and the jump servers may get confused with that.

Not map, but server. You may check for 'JUMP' in server name. But really imo that's not necessary - not that it's really any kind of hidden information anyway.
While we're at it, if it wasn't mentioned, what would really be nice for server browser, besides password column, is querying for information about GLS setting on the server, ie. whether you need to be logged in to play.

Or it would be also good if you could order it by yourself..
You could create "new group" (for example jump) and put there servers conected with that. And than work with groups like: hide, etc...
Something like "groups" in bsp editor or icq..

also perhaps group the beta servers aswell?
and also in answer if you were going to use a query then maybe u should base a new server list on something like access where you have all the different groups and you can tick what type you want to look for and click search or something

Oh nevermind, it would be simple server filter. Type 'jump' in textbox, mark 'exclude/does not contain' checkbox and press go/search! No need to do specific filter in game, just general filtering mechanism. Also filtering per ping, number of players, map, etc I think it has already been proposed though.

e.g for ping you can search for 10-100

In the external serverbrowser u can sort the list by ping, mapname, servername, ip and clients.

so u type in a search for the ping e.g 10-100 then mapname e.g propaint 1 then the servername e.g OTB then the ip and clients. and hope for the best?

That's the whole point of revamping server browser. Sorting, multiple criterion filtering, showing some valuable info about server (GLS/password protection). Part of it is in external one, but my experience proves it's pretty flaky.

Ummm... the clantag is there, so mere sort by hostname would group them anyway.

Can someone explain me how to get a bitmap into the external serverbrowser?
Than i can make the gls and password info for it. The password info is almost done, but only with a 0 or 1 in front of the server. I want to have an picture or icon there.

if you search via the clans tag for their specific server though would that not make finding it easier than findin the groups? like if you wanted a specefic one you would put otb1 and not otb. something like that?

No, I didn't mean filter this time. Just click on column header 'Server Name' to make list sorted. And it will take care of grouping as well.

I'm not sure it's possible. Just make it say 'PASS' like that and I think it would be good enough.
