When I play paintball 2 I have no idea what gun I am using unless i can see it. I can't see my gun nor does my gun or hand show up on the screen. Its hidden from my veiw. could comeone help? TY in advance

Your fov must be 90 or lower and your hand needs to be 0 or 1 (right or left handedness in the layout options).

in addition cl_gun should be set to 1.

The settings are fine. The gun just doesnt show ill try the cl_gun thing but i was hoping someone would give me a command for th console.

all of those are console commands... i dont know about cl_gun though.

cl_gun shows the gun if it's 1.

Try this:  Rename your config file (paintball2\pball\configs\config.cfg) to something else, like config.bak.  Load the game back up, but don't change any settings, and see if your gun is visible.

I never thought that seeing your gun is not as important as knowing what you have (sound of the gun and rate of fire). Unless changeing hand gives you some kind of advantage.

How so? Look at me asking a newb dp question. :) weeee for meh!!!!

The kind next repsonce would be a demo :) but, alas look at were I am posting.

My assumption by reading all the q2 mod read-meh(s)    is that center hand is the best and non newb way when railing. Perhaps I have a alot to learn (god help you all) after 5 years of owning :)

Funny thing is I have never met an honest railer that skunked me in a match or on publix.

When you're railing, you're only ever posessing the railgun, which you spawn with.  Why does it matter if you see it or not?  I play pball with a script that moves the gun to the centre everytime I shoot just because I like to know which gun I have when I'm not shooting and can't be bothered watch the bottom left corner to try to read the HUD messages.

Changing your hand is like leaning -- mostly usless, but it does give you the ability to shoot around corners without exposing yourself quite as much.
