I don't know what 90% of the knobs and do-dads in this program do, but I had fun tinkering with the other 10%.

Sounds cool. Try the tutorials in FL Studio if you haven't already; they're pretty useful (if they're still there, that is).

Makes it look so easy. :P

You can download it from their main site: http://www.flstudio.com/

You just can't save anything with it.  I have a legit copy.

I found a pretty awesome VST plugin called VoxengoBoogex (http://www.voxengo.com/product/boogex/).  It allows for much more realistic sounding guitar amps.  Here's the beginnings of something that uses a guitar I tried to make sound like the one in the opening of "Sweet Child 'o Mine":

Not bad for 100% synthetic, in my opinion.

I experimented with making my own VST plugin.  Originally I was trying to make something that sounded like shattered glass, but it ended up sounding more like bells or a music box:

Reverb/delay added in FL Studio.

I still haven't made a complete song, but I'm going to try now.  My mom loves Christmas music, so I'm going to give a "Joy to the World" remix a shot.

Here's what I have so far (nowhere near complete):
