Why not make this into(or make a) battlefield 2 paintball mod? I think that would be kickass.

Eh, what would be the point in that?  So you could have jets and tanks and 5 mile paintball fields?

In any case, I don't feel like learning a new game engine and making a free game not free anymore.  If you want it, make it yourself. :)

Standalone is a lot more convenient for people that don't want to go buy bf2 to play a game.
