Have a New Maps/ Beta Maps sub forum to relieve the clutter and what not
Even another sub-forum would help but can't think of anything relevant.
-
A tutorials subforum?

A tutorials subforum?
That would be good. A sub forum for New Maps and Beta Maps and a Guides Sub forum.

And then the regular mapping board would be just for questions? Er..
Yes, sounds good.
-
I don't think we have a sufficient volume of new topics to make creating more subforums worthwhile.
-
I posted a map release and with in a day, it was on page two.
-
WTF is that picture with those crates P!nk?
-
Mapping isn't too congested, it's superfluous to add sub-forums for everything the general board already covers when the need isn't there.

I don't see the need for it.

Would you people be willing to make a "Completed maps" forum where threads could be moved to? >.>?
The only maps people upload to the map DB are maps I inevitably need to delete because they are so bad, and so I occasionally upload the good maps myself. However, I don't really check the mapping forum very often, and nor do I really want to. A lot of maps are made, very few of them are decent, and even less ever get to a final.

+1 (And I know I'll never post there...)

So True :/
+1

Merged topics.
-
I like the "Completed Maps" idea. Don't think we need one for new and beta maps though.
-
Make a completed one, but only the adins can post in it/move it to there. So when an admin thinks that it is finished, then it gets moved so that all of the dudes at OTB and the map DB can just look at the completed maps forum.
Here come the flames.
-
So when an admin thinks that it is finished,
Well 90% of the 'completed' maps here I wouldn't call complete.
-
I am for this vote.

-
Well 90% of the 'completed' maps here I wouldn't call complete.
Which is why it takes someone other than the mapper to think that it is complete.
-
I didn't realy know where to post it, so i did it here :)
The new sub forum for completed maps is very nice, i like it. Hope, that the older completed maps will moved there soon.
Like y00tz said, most of the 'completed' maps aren't completed 100%. I would like to see there only 100% completed maps.
Maybe it would be nice, if there is always (some topics don't have it) the link of the final release in the first or last post, that people don't have to search the whole topic.
-
The author should be able to edit his first post and link to the final map. Perhaps this should be added as a requirement for being moved to the completed section. I haven't really decided on what all the criteria will be. If you find any threads for maps that look like they should be moved to the completed section, use the report to moderator link so you don't have to resurrect old threads.
-
Shouldn't making new topics in that sub-forum be disabled?
-
Isn't it?
-
Nope.
-
Maybe you're special. This is what I have.
-
Did you *really* need to take two screenshots?!!?//!11oneslashslashzorch
-
Check again. It was supposed to be disabled. I tried setting the options again.
Oh, probably because zorch is on the committee. I changed the options for all the user groups.
-
I can't post in the completed boards, but I can still move, right?
-
Ok, its good now.
-

You should be able to move and post, just not create new topics. The idea is that a map's thread will be moved there when the map is complete.
