I was going to revive the old thread, but it looked like it was mostly spam and flames, so here's the new deal. I'm just going to get this started. Very unofficial for now, but what we'll do is this:
Someone will nominate a list of maps, and then each following person will vote y or n for each map in the list. Mark undecided votes with a ?.
This isn't about liking or disliking maps, it's about the quality of team play and strategies the map offers. In other words, if you continuously get owned or confused on a map because you can't sit and spray one entrance, it's probably a good match map. If it's a one-path/box/all-autos map, all of you had better be voting no.
You must be actively participating in a clan to vote. Once a map has, say 5 or more yes votes, or 5 or more no votes, it will be added / discarded.
I'll start with an example:
roundup
warehouse
mirrorr
ub_rooftop
midnight2
crimethink
siegecastle
castle1
jump
pbcup
bombsaway
indune
fort20
Then you would vote, like:
roundup - y
warehouse - ?
mirrorr - y
ub_rooftop - y
midnight2 - y
crimethink - y
siegecastle - y
castle1 - y
jump - y
pbcup - n
bombsaway - n
indune - n
fort20 - n
As maps are approved / disapproved, I'll be updating this post with the approved/unapproved/pending list. We'll see how it goes. Perhaps it will help better set up an official committee. Or maybe we'll just stick with this if it works well.

Also, I should clarify -- talking about real matches here, not 2v2, so keep that in mind: maps should work well with around 5v5.

some good match maps:
castle1
battle2
ksplat2
brainstorm
warhouse
sphouse
kfields
keep in mind I havent played in a while..
there's manyyyy more good maps (mostly oldschool)
just cant think of them atm.
but I'm sure if you got some good players together a decent match maplist could easily be agreed upon.

warehouse != warhouse. It's a good map, but it's rather small, so it may not work well in a match scene. Better for like a 2v2 tourny.

I think airtime & nitefactor would make great match maps. Multiple paths (each path offering a variety of tactical possibilities, and great flag interception possibilities), simple & well built, low r_speeds. Good for 2 vs 2 up to 4 vs 4.
eh...better than some i''ve matched on.

Out of curiosity, why don't you think roundup would be a good match map? It offers a variety of gameplay and there are some good intercept points. If you're low, and you time it right, you can fairly easily shoot somebody out of the air when they're going on the high path. When you're on the high path, you can usually hear where people are on the low path and jump down to intercept, or let them pass by and shoot them in the back. The only complaint I have is that the trick jumps to get to the high path from the low path don't flow very smoothly.

Wait I may have roundup mixed up with another map. If roundup is the map with the high center area that has the two hard jumps across the low paths and the twisted tunnels to get back behind to the flag then I like it. I'll have to load it up and have a look so I know what i'm talking about.
