I believe in god, but I dont have one, which all other can use aswell. i have my personal god. Ofcourse, i have my personal devil aswell. I do feel that there is a chance of me going to hell, so Ill do my best not to stop the global warming so id feel like home when i get down there.

I think my biggest issue is that most of the people I know feel that if you don't believe in "God" in the general Christian sense (i.e., A singular god -- with or without a son, depending on whether you're jewish) you're going to hell. Well, last I checked, Christianity isn't even the dominant religion on the planet -- it's Hinduism.
I can't believe that a god that's purported to be so nice and whatnot is going to send the majority of people on this planet to hell for not believing in him; and on the flip side, what makes Christianity right and Hinduism wrong? Maybe all the Christians are gonna get slapped around by one of the Hindu gods like Shiva when they die.

Mind you that is a very broad 'classification' (for the lack of a better word). For instance, Jehovah's Witnesses call themselves Christian when others (myself included) consider them a cult.

I dont care about religion, i want to base my thoughts on this world against things that can be proven. I'm one of those people that believe hte origins of Religion are from a time when magical things happened, and the people of that time were not advanced enough to explain them. I also believe modern Religion has gone through so many people, each time losing accuracy that what we now now as Religious texts are more likely to be personal exaggerations or fantasies.
However I respect those people who are Religious if it helps them improve their lifes, and helps them give a meaning to why they are here if they need that. I won't accept anyone pressing their Religious beliefs onto others as I classify this into the same class as things like spam mail etc

Religion is about believing, not seeing Herron. Just because you can't see it does not mean it isn't there. Religion is all about believing and faith, no matter what religion you are. And I could be imagining this, but it seems that you dislike christianity. Stupid thread, lock it.

I'm not a fan of any religion, really. Most eastern religions I don't mind at all, but the more prominent western ones seem more destructive at their worst.

Chemical test showed us what other gases were in air besides O2, not our eyes. Our eyes only helped read the results.

If you had, you would realize that yes, you do in fact see with your eyes, but there are special magical inventions, that help us to see things more closely. These magical wondrous things I speak of are so highly top-secret I can not speak of them for fear of the government catching wind. *cough* microscopes *cough*

All books of religion are nice stories created by man to guide man.
All religions are groups aligned to a certain religious book, or an interpretation of a religious book.
Some religions are harmless, and help man through life. Other religions are harmful, and advocate murder and other hideous things towards and against man.
FACT: Jehovah's Witness' "dis-communicate" there own that break their rules. In the writings of the JW they are murdering this person. Because the laws of the land do not allow actual murder, they have create dis-communication instead.
God: Is there a God? People say that's completely a matter of faith. But is it? I would define "God" as a being higher than us, that has created, or set the rules that resulted in our creation of us, and, in some way, controls our destiny.
The world is an amazing place. Evolution is amazing. The universe, and all that it holds, is truly amazing. A random act? Theoretically speaking, physics does not exist beyond that time of the singularity. This is obvious, as there was nothing before that time according to our frame of reference, which began with the big bang. BUT, logic tells us that something existed before hour zero of our universe. Someone, or something, directly, or indirectly, planted the seed of our universe. God?
I feel science is the only true religion. Science is the tool, path, and key to our creation, and, more so, our creator.
I appreciate constructive religions for what they are and do. They keep the mind of the simple man peaceful and protected from the truth of science and the fact that our creation and creator is out of our reach, and will be so for all of foreseeable time.

Anyways,
Religion is one more harm than good IMO. Think of any war, Ever, and it all boils down to religion. That said, add in a little greed and some hate and you have the cause of global conflict.
Honestly, it baffles me how people can believe in some of the ridiculous things religions throw out there. I mean, Heaven & Hell? Those are the most ridiculous concepts imaginable.
But hey, to each his own.
