1. it's HUD - heads up display

2. There are already blue versions of the normal numbers. In fact, several.

edit: not meant to be discouraging, make some nice new numbers :-)

these are better that the dark blue ones and insted of red blood it blue...

It's meant to be paint not blood :-P

In reference to computer gaming, it says head-up...  Another fine example of how screwed up wikipedia is. 3 articles on basically the same subject. Nice.
