Title: Problems
Post by: Henkka on February 18, 2008, 03:23:59 AM
1. When ever i run paintball and try to just write map <insertmapnamehere> it says: ERROR: Game Error: Failed to bind socket 10022.

2. Everyday several times it just suddenly closes dp and says something like this: Paintball2 stopped working, "The problem stopped program's faultless activity. Windows closes the program and informs if there is a solution available. Then nothing happens.

3. I bought a new computer and i have like 150-200fps all the time and my ping is fine too but i lag horribly. I used to play with laptop with 40-80fps and didn't lag much.

Also my tunnels look like this:

Any help?

No.  That just seemed to cause the error for some people.  I'll try to get it straightened out for the next build.

are you running 32-bit or 64-bit vista? also, are you behind a firewall, or have a router with a firewall built-in?

Lol.  I think b21 hates my internet connection and in the New GT Website (cant link it, computer doesnt like me) thread i showed what its never done until i installed b21.  Its really annoying.  Sometimes by a fluke you still manage to hit people.

Um, not really a related topic, but it looks like a network issue.  Are you on wireless?  Transferring files?  Running torrents?

Not on wireless, not transferring files and i only run torrents during the night.  Makes it to laggy when i run paintball.  I think it might have something 2 do with b21 because it never did that in build 20 or any earlier versions.  My dad when im playing it also uses a VPN connection from home.  Could that do something?

It's likely that could suck up the bandwidth and cause you to lag in-game.

So, anyone can help with my other problems? Are they caused by build21 too?

Try installing build20 again?  You should be able to overwrite your current install.

I still have the same problems. Only essential thing is that it just suddenly closes dp very often. The lagg or the tunnel problem doesn't distract so much but i can't play like at all if i can't fix that thing.

:[ Help.

I was on, and it seemed like I lagged out. So i went to the sever list and hit clear, and refresh, which usually works. But then the servers never came back. And now I can't log on, nor do the servers come up.

I have dial up, but I dont think this is the problem.

pleaseeeeeee help. :[

EDIT

I fixed it. nvm :D

Okay, my Windows said "This Windows copy isn't genuine" and something like that because i hadn't registered my Vista but while i hadn't registered it, my dp didn't lag at all. Now after i registered it, my dp lags more that ever. Anyone know why?

I doubt those are directly related.  You probably have something running in the background, like a virus scanner or automatic updates.  Fire up task manager and see what's using up your resources.
