Title: New Child Forum Category Discussion
Post by: KnacK on March 12, 2008, 04:53:31 AM: I would like to discuss the possibility of adding a few child categories under the Mapping one.

Such as:

Tutorials:
the only thing that can be posted here are actual how-to's on various things related to mapping. Any ongoing discussion can be carried out in Mapping.

Map Releases:
this would be so that new mappers can release their new maps and discussion about these maps could be carried out here as well.

Just a few thoughts for organisation's sake.

I feel that this might give us a bit more organisation and structure to a lot of information that we have out there in the mapping category.

Thoughts???

We want an idea as to how thsi would be receieved and if it is actually needed. We'll give it a week or so then decide.

If it gets implemented, I am going to try to sort out threads a little at a time as I have the time to do it.

I was thinking about that - given some mappers attitudes about releasing betas, I could disable posting new topics in the release section and just allow people to post in the beta/WIP forum, then after the map has been properly tested and fixed, move the thread to the release forum.

For now, I think just a general thread for releasing maps (beta or otherwise) is probably sufficient.
