Edit: Guess I should explain this more.

While I was out of a job, I figured I'd try out AdSense to see if there was any kind of revenue to be made from it. It was up for a month or two and generated something in the 3-digit dollar range. Not a huge amount, but more than I expected. I figured I'd stick with it. Then I got my job at Red Storm, and after I moved into my new place and got an Internet connection set up, I noticed the ads were blank. I thought maybe it was just something with my browser, or something about the new internet connection, so I wasn't too concerned until somebody else mentioned it. When I tried to log into the AdSense account, I found it had been disabled completely. There was an auto-generated email in my gmail account similar to the one above. I tried appealing, and after waiting a couple of weeks, got the message above. I didn't get any of the money.

Searching around, I found a number of other people experienced the same thing. Some people were set back thousands of dollars. Apparently google has an algorithm that checks for "invalid" activity, then shuts the account down without warning or explanation. I have no idea why it was disabled. I can't even log into the account to look at the statistics.

I think google has checks in place to ensure clicks are genuine such as length of time on the advertised site etc, etc.

and you're right... adsense sucks... i only have like $10 collected in like a few years. lol

besides, how can you expect google to play fair anyway? anyone wanna make a map called "kill google"? :D

Yeah, I assumed the company that mastered webcrawlers, might be capable of seeing 3 links clicked in one second... thus I just spent a few minutes daily in IE clicking a few links that seemed relevant. So not me, but thanks for the call out Lek, always keeping me on my toes ;)

yup, took um, someone I know, 2 years to make $100 of mainly his own clicks...

since almost everybody agrees that the future of online ads is directly in online games (like animated banners in football stadium) - can this be done also in dp2 ?
isn't possible to make some special placeholders in map walls for ads/banners/etc ?

jitspoe - you should consider this, because i think that it's more than fair to earn something for your fine work.
