NEEDS MORE HDR
BTW, that bird is a 100% crop. It was a bit far away from me, but came out pretty good.
Looks like I might have a bad pixel also...no biggie.
Think I can get that first picture of yours coLa in full resolution?
NEEDS MORE HDR
Great pics everyone!
coLa. that shot at the track is great. There is a market for that. I paid very good money for shots our our drag truck with just that effect.
Now, what is HDR?
saved that one as my background

he looks like he's watching for food. great picture and site!
I just got Photomatix, which, from what I read, is a good HDR application. You can take a RAW file, vary the exposure in software, and create good HDR with it. I don't know much about HDR, just read on it today. Expect me to exploit and experiment with it in the near future.
ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS shoot in RAW, if possible, and at the highest resolution you can. You never know when that one-in-a-million shot will happen, and it would suck to have it as a 800x600 JPEG.
darn about time someone posted up something like this here. good excrement. do you do any kind of editing or just use the images straight from the camera?s8n = photoshop god. lol
splain how you HDR in photoshop please.Easy. You take 7-8 photos with different f-stops, then you open one image and use "merge to HDR", then select all the photos you've taken.
Knack- what kind of camera are you using? you should try and stay away from the AUTO settings and mess with the MANUAL, TV, AV, and P modes. you'd get so much more out of your pictures.
Guys. These sunsets are crap. You can see none of the foreground. HDR is the answer. At least take multiple exposures and hand it off to someone else. It has the potential to look really, REALLY awesome. D:i dont have a tripod, nor a string and washer. =\
cola, use RAW, you'll LOVE it! lol
I'll have to upload some pictures on here soon, once i get to them.
Flat surace?maybe if you could see the foreground you'd see that its just a field. nothing flat to be found. =]
here is one of my car. i used shadow/highlight on photoshop and gave it the "HDR" look.True HDR is not even comparable to that "look".
And if I really wanted to get fancy I can always do a chop on sections of my images and tweak the individual layers to even things out, or make areas stand out dramatically. But that takes a lot of time.
I like that last one the best, but you sure are getting some flare off of the lens. Is it clean? ( I am serious - looks like some dirt on it )
How about a before and after on teh last one coLa.
there you go cola. hot.
there you go cola. hot.
Those look very nice- could use a bit more tweaking, though. What happened to the third one? A lot of the color is just gone. O_o
Your pictures are very detailed. Almost too detail as they look odd to me because most of the pictures I have seen aren't anything like yours.
I want a camera now...
See the previous discussion about HDR. :DYes I did. I even commented about it.
thanks.for that water drop one you need a faster shutter speed so you don't get the blur. Depending on the type of camera there is open source camera firmware that can change it beyond what the camera normally allows.

I've always wanted a 500 series Hasselblad, but now they've got digital as well.
Also, im not expecting anyone will have, but does anyone have any experience with Super8 reel film cameras and projectors? Especially using the modern Ektachrome 64T.My first experience with Super 8 was a stop frame animation with my army guys that my father and I did together when I was about 6 years old. I actually still have a Super 8 projector, camera ( somewhere) and a Super 8 editor with viewer.

pfft, i don't know where that will take you. that's not even my car, it's a friends car and i photoshopped a couple extra "X's" on the plate. glad you couldn't tell the diff. ;D
what do you think about the pic knack? you seem to be the only one giving me criticism. i'd appreciate feedback.
Personally, it's jsut a picture, not a photograph.
It just doesn't do anything for me. Alot of your others are much better.
I do like the Del Rio though.
and yes, I didn't catch the "X"'s
OT:
I'd really like to find a Del Sol in great condition for my son.
Off Topic: i like the del-sol's.. but would i rather have a Civic, Predelude, or Del-Sol?
The "ME CENTER" sounds like a great place to be.
great job!
The bottom 3 pics are fantastic.
Sorry my pics are big, but I save them out at the size I feel does the picture justice. Small pictures piss me off when I want to see detail.
Yikes, black widows...
is that your front yard? looks like you have some gophers.Or golf clubs ;)
here is one with very minimal editing.

all I can say is WOW+1
I love the bee eating the caterpillar! Not eatting, just laying eggs inside. When the egg hatch, the larva eat the caterpillar from the inside out.
nice job S8N

I'm afraid cola might go nuts with this, but I'll go ahead and post it anyway. One of my coworkers told me about a technique of "tilt shift photography" that can create the illusion that a full scale object is a miniature. Of course, the effect can be faked in Photoshop.

lol.... i'm not gonna go crazy with it.. but i might try it. i haven't even really shot anything with my new stuff. the weather here has been pretty bad lately. there is another hurricane on it's way towards me as i type.Send me a picture of it. lawl
I'm saying if you got mad bass skills like Flea has then youll be really good at it lol.
well it's required to run a front plate. i try to abide by the laws. i hate cops.really? i thought in the US only a rear plate was required, thats why people sell sick airbrushed plates for the front.
Looks nice, you going to change those rims on the front anytime soon :P?
Hey i've been around, just really busy.
Been watching all the kick ass photos...awesome pics of your girl Cola!!!

I see nothing?
Lots of photos from this weekend. Pretty much everything was taken with my dad's new 100mm macro lens or my 50-200mm telephoto lens (I'm really itching to get something more powerful. 200 always seems to just fall short, and I end up cropping and losing resolution).
I had my 75-300 for sale for quite some time. Actually just sold it last week.I thought it only went to 250. How do you convert mm to a zoom level? Is 400mm like 2x 200mm, or how does that work?
/me was a n00b and took a couple of photos with his mums new Nikon camera :). 56k warning here, these images are massive, and I ceebs scaling them down, so I'm going to post links. What kind of bird is that in http://cameron.viciouz.co.uk/stuff/DSC_1048.JPG? A painted bunting, Or some type of parrot?

Isn't it a Rainbow Lorikeet?Yes, it is, I just asked someone :)
It may not be the largest (volume wise), but it is 6th highest.I thought Mauna Loa would've been bigger.
The tallest could be Mauna Kea if one was to measure from the base to the peak, rather than sea level - at 10,203m or so.
I thought Mauna Loa would've been bigger.
Why is there like a beam of light going down the middle of the picture? UFO =O
Manual exposure FTWThat was with manual exposure. I had it set to -1.7 with 4-5 seconds intake, whatever that means, I just read it off the screen when I did it.
Any new pic from anyone, Knack, Jitspoe...I looking forward to seeing yours Jitspoe.
That girl on the right in the first picture needs to shave that beard! ;)i think that is her hair
Great shots, but I lol'd at that.
nice pic, anyone have some new photos that took?
who cares why it's like that it looks sick.
When I was there all they did was Rome around and eat grassroam*
as I already said, s8n's already done much more than any sane person would do Tongue
lol webhead, well if you wanna be picky :Pi didn't notice all that.
1. above the bottom line on left, 3 copies of the same spec of dust, and smudges behind it.
2. above the bottom line on right, 3 copies of same smudge, and the lines above and below aren't aligned.
3.above 2nd line on right, 2 copies of 3 dust specs.
4. Back of mat and where the start of wall are all misaligned.
5. on the wall, there are 4 steps of colors that need blended, going up the whole wall.
6. incorrect brightness of wall under her arm.
7. the crispness of her edges (but thats just being picky)
i didn't notice all that.I don't know how someones eyes could see that much detail anyway.
i didn't notice all that.
You didn't catch that I removed the hair clip off her head by accident.aww, :/ missed that one.
I don't know how someones eyes could see that much detail anyway.I work at a photo studio and my degree is in a similar field :P Its a pain when customers are as picky as I was with images.
and for free at thatIs it a national dance thing in your area, or is it a local dance studio? Because they look like high production shows.

With that being said, wut?!
In a nutshell:
I miss shooting in film.
I have no idea if local community colleges are teaching beginning *film* photographyMy high school offers a film photography course. i took it and shooting with film was so cool.
film is nostalgic but the digital age has overcome and it is only the beginning
consumer 50, 100, 500 megapixel imaging will become commonplace
the art of film sits with the vinyl record
I have no desire to shoot another roll of film...inferior technology
I hate to see film die.I was one of the last in my University to take our beginning photography (film) class. It ended the next semester... But it then became digital, same as the intermediate and advanced were digital...
Question for Photoshoppers..... Is there any way possible to make the default Save-As option JPEG? I'm getting sick of having to change that, and Google is no help at all :(.It defaults based on the file specs. If the file has one layer, it defaults to JPEG. If it has more than one layer, it defaults to PSD. Unless you already had a multi-layer file saved as a different format, then it will resave as that format when you go to save a copy.
Three words...lol, i later found that out from a friend. Thanks for the explanation as well Jusu :)

oooo thats a nice flame shot.Haha. In all I took about 100 or so, but that was the best one :P. Been my desktop background for a while as well.
So may I use them thare fire pics? For your desktop background? Sure, why would I care? o.0
I like the bokeh auf your last foto cameron.I had sorta swung the camera to it as soon as I saw it end up where it was, and it was gone a second after that, didn't have much time, and I keep forgetting to put it into RAW when I take photos :\. If only for the next couple of photos it could've been a brighter day :\
But the parrot is not that sharp it should be..
Everytime i see this thread on my list, i always think it says "pornography". :\I just hope to see more photos...
Cameron you should buy a polarized filter. That with the last pic would have made it look rich! And easier to edit later. :PShows how much I don't know about that can go on a camera... haha. Shall look at getting one though, rather a better shot :). I has income now, don't have to convince parents anymore.
