good idea, but has 1 terrible downturn:

not enough skilled, knowledgeable player, and too many newbs around, so the vote would end up with blitz, pbcup and other maps of that kind

Well, if u have bad luck, noob players will decide the maplist, it will end up wit bad maps, and nobody wants to join ur server anymore...

Make 1-path maps not count toward your stats? :)
