So i was thinking about this and thought,
What if you could sort the maps by who made that specific map.
Like a category of the persons name. If you click on their name, a list of all the maps made by them will show up.
Does this sound like a possible idea?

Nope. Not with the current menu system, at least.

Even if you could 'make it work', there's no guarantee that a mapmaker would have signed their maps in the same way each time, let alone signed them at all.

But still I would lovee to see who made what map.

I had this idea, or rather some thing similar. I would love to be able to implement it, however I cannot with the current system. It would require some sort of tagging system for the maps (similar to that of mp3's) and a more functional (fixed) variable system.

Well if its ever possible, try to make it happen.

I beg to differ. This would allow me to do some stuff much easier and more accurate. You know how I have the game types on the left side of my maps menu, Where you click a game mode and it only lists maps that game mode? This would make those menus much more easy to write, and much more accurate as to which maps you have (the way those are implemented is not very practical).

Well, I wrote an algorithm to pick out author names from title fields for the map database. From my experience, it got it relatively right 90-95% of the time (I ran it through my entire map collection at the time). That, and the map database already has the information to begin with.

Maybe, but it's sort of something that zorch would implement, not jits. The feature vote is (I think) a priority list for jits to implement. Zorch is the guy that you would want to go to for menus.

Re-read the topic: It should go on feature vote under a new map 'tagging' system to show Mapper, name, date, etc. (like MP3s)
This could get really big if implemented...

Exactly. Jits needs to put the functionality there so I can do something with it.
