I recall an old Splat vs Gotcha! match where Splat had grabbed the flag on the last defender of the G! squad (yeah, squads are still teh suck). I forget who it was, but I want to say FalseDeath. Hump "ordered" Falsie to use the then famous "kill" command, thus denying Splat the cap. When he refused, he was kicked from the squad. (And by this process, he may have aquired a spot in Splat.. my memory is spotty.) Ah, the lameness that was Hump. In any case, the "kill" cmd was stupid then, and should not be brought back. It is almost as bad as the whole disconnect/reconnect thing.
-
What's the Kill command?
-
^^^ should be interesting to see the replies to that one
-
It sends shockwaves through your mouse that control your thoughts, and causes you to jump in front of the enemy.
Well, that was bad. I can't think of anything better now.
-
lol. I get it now. You let them kill you so they dont get the cap.
-
There is a still a kill command, but it only works in debug mode (debug3 or debug4 have to be set -- can't remember which). It's not a good thing to have for regular play, though, as Murdock explained.
-
i can post 2 :) which is more on topic , watch .........." kill" belongs back, as long a ff is a on.
-
If by 'belongs back' you mean 'should be put back in', then I strongly disagree. As EVERYONE ELSE in the thread is saying, it would just lead to cheap tatics to prevent caps.
-
how? what is to stop someone from reconnecting in game before cap?

Besides the fact that it is somewhat cumbersome, you'd lose all your stats.. though that probably isn't a bad thing if you're the kind of player that has to reconnect to stop a cap.

id rather be able to kill my self and not loose stats, besides with grenades that can kill the thrower, whats to stop them from killing them selvs to prevent s cap.

Not having a grenade, for one thing, but I should probably add some suicide counter-measures. Discuss here: http://dpball.com/forums/index.php?topic=1354.0

Commiting Suicide is good for Several Reasons:
- Playing versus a newbie and want to give them win.
- Just dont feel like playing that round but want to stay related in the game.
Some Disadvantages:
- Players use it when they are about to get capped on.
- Players versing a better play and dont want to get owned.
As you can see there are many reasons why suicide is good and why it isnt.
Thank You

If you want a newbie to win, you should let them shoot you. They're not going to learn how to play by you killing yourself.
-
True, but why get taken down by some newbie who doesnt know how to play...?

Probably the same reason you'd kill yourself to let him win.
