Title: bots and other stuff

Finally was able to log on.

I have two questions.  First... for some reason i cant play online- ive tried everything.  Help?

Second- This game is so cool.. it really needs some bots!

Did you get server list and then refresh the server?

No, what happens is i go to join server and it crashes the game :(

are you sure you go to join server and not start server?

i didnt say you were, i was just making sure cause mine crashes on start server

The reason starting a server crashes is because the maps.lst file got missed in the release.  The next version will actually generate a list by the .bsp files that exist in the maps directory rather than reading that file.

The entire program crashes or you get an error in the console when the map tries to load?  Los Details Americana, por favor.

Americana?

Anyhow, it crashes the program completely.  (im running XP, and it says send error report blah blah blah)

Does it crash if you manually load a map, or only when you try to connect to a server?

Type "map midnight" at the console and see if it crashes.

I can load maps... when i try to connect to the server i get the error.

Have you tried manually connecting to an IP?  Try typing this at the console:
connect 64.246.15.2:27910

Well mine ALWAYS crashes... until I update to the latest nvidia drivers , if your using an nvidia card try that.

WHen i connect to that adress it works, but noone is on it.

http://www.planetquake.com/q3pball/q3pbftp/dpfaq.txt - Scroll down to the playing online part , Get the All Seeing Eye program.. that should help you see if anyone is on a server.
