THis guys hits the nail on the head!
As a sysadmin, I deal with ALL of this on a daily basis. Just take a look at all of the comments.

Got that windows update today. I press 'update later'
I was downloading something, so I leave the computer for 10 minutes.
I come back and my computer is restarting.

I agree, 90%. (With the lone exception of Flash)

WIth flash, they install a scheduler that can be a PITA in a domain environment.
As the update will run, then it can't be installed as the user doesn't have admin privileges.

Sure, but I was going by the reason they mentioned in the article, which was a lousy excuse :P
