I played for my first time online, and i noticed none of the players where holding guns, all where a bit lower hovering in the air.  Why's this?

It's because the developers haven't decided yet whether to use that player model in the final release or not, so they haven't taken the time to fully implement the player weapons.  Once a final model is decided on and servers get updated as well as the clients you will see players holding the proper gun, rather then have it dangling from their sides like it currently does.
