they speak portuguese in brazil, yes. 
he's looking for someone that speaks his language to help with problems he encountered when he tried to register.

I knew that, I just knew there were 2 different dialects of it.
I worked with a bunch of Brazilian guys framing houses.  Fast hard workers and the nicest guys you could ever meet.  Tought me a few words.
