Title: BSP + Linux
Post by: Zorchenhimer on August 03, 2008, 03:59:25 PM
Last time I tried this it didn't work.  Unzipped BSP to ~/.wine/drive_c/ and opened it up.  Works with both bsp-sse2.exe and bsp.exe.  The preview window works too (this didn't before).  It might be due to the version of WINE I'm using (wine-1.1.2), but I'm not exactly sure.

Heh, one thing I didn't think about was compiling maps.  >.<  That'll be interesting.  :P

Hooray thread revival!

Anyway, I found out that everything actually compiles like it should.  But the kicker was that all the output was hidden, including the "press any key to continue" line.  Fortunately there's an easy fix: run BSP in wine via the command line.  The batch files will output there.  It's a bit of a mess, but it works.  Maybe I'll post some modded batch files a bit later to fix that...

Could you benchmark the compile times of a map inside and out of wine?

Not anytime soon, but yea I can do that.  Maybe a bit later this week.
