Title: Feature request. Wall Jumping.
Post by: JOE on January 07, 2006, 03:42:00 PM
I think this game needs to have wal jumping added into it.  Not sure what wall jumping is? Wall jumping lets you run up to a wall and push off of it when jumping.  its kind of hard to explain, but i think it would be a great addition to the game.  Of corse yes people would get really good at it but there could be restrictions like no more than 3 consecutive walljumps.  A good game to checkout what walljumping is and how it works is Quake3 Urban Terror....its a great tool to use for jumping around corners and such, please give me feedback

Maybe that would be a bit too much for dp, considering to the small maps which are like everywhere is a wall...

You'd have to design the maps around the jumping, that way. The maps we have would change completely, most of them becoming rushing-ish maps.

I don't really feel like taking another railing for changes to the gameplay right now.  Perhaps I'll reconsider it at a later date.

The best change you can make is adding the q2 bind +hook which elimanates the 'jump good' problem for the public newbs like my self.

I can get up to 100 mph on Antioch but I cant make backdoor c1. MEH!!!!

Joe nice suggestion.

And while you're at it, give the players jetpacks too. I'd have the same effect as walljumping.

Wall jumping is possible you actualy get more speed by doing it. Look into the wall on about 45 degreese and hold right or left strafe and jump you gain alot more speed.

Eh... I don't think that's possible.  Can you post a demo?

I have already requested that. Hooks require more skill :) . I used to be very good at railing with both.

You're not actually jumping off of the wall, though.  I guess I misread your previous post.
