If A player joins a clan in the middle of a match, Is that player allowed to play in tie map?
I always thought this was an obvious yes, but others told me this is not so. Someone care to clarify. Multiple answers would be nice.

I think it doesnt care unless the player is in the same clan.
-
we need a rule book :)
-
WHY is a player joining in the middle of a match?
-
cuz kids r stupid and give out pw's
-
No, they don't technically give out passwords. They're just stupid enough to announce it to the whole server.
-
Not joining in the middle of a match, Joining THE CLAN in the middle of a match, and using that player. That was my question. I still feel, based on the responses, that any player in the clan, regardless of when he or she was admitted, may play in matches.

honestly, i dont think anyone here cares...no offence..but what is the committee gonna do ban that person?

or help him to clarify like Cuso asked...

This is not a committee issue.
If 2 clans decide to match, they need to decide on the rules up front.
-
I in no way intended this to be interpreted as a committee issue. I was just wondering if there was a rule, and if there was not, what peoples opinion on the matter was. Apparently this was misinterpreted. I just wanted to know people thoughts on joining a clan, on dplogin, mid match. Its not some hard core serious topic, I was just wondering what you all thought. :P

well they obviously let that person join because they thought he'd help them win the match. IMO players MUST be on the roster before the match begins. this should be common knowledge really.

Agreed.
+1

I figure as long as they can wear the tag of the clan, they are part of it
-
I agree with coLa. The roster should be established before the match and shouldn't change mid-match.

I also agree.
The worst, though, is when a clan substitutes some random in when they don't have enough people around. And it gets better. These clans usually count those as legit wins, too.
I'm talking to you, DIO.

Players join clans mid match? Never heard of this excrement.

Is that saying the clan list should say the same or the people playing in the match should stay the same?
-
These were more of the responses I was looking for the first time a I posted this :)
Thank you for the info. I conclude rosters should be set before a match begins.

The clan should be free to sub out players with members already in the same clan, but not grab people outside of the clan, add them to the clan, and sub them in mid-match.
-
Yea they should not be able to join a clan mid match and then play. But subbing someone already in the clan before the match is fine.
What really makes me mad is when clans have extra people in the server not playing and then refuse to put them in when your team gets more people. Especially when they have like 6 people in for a 3v3. I can see having 1 maybe 2 extras and not subbing in. But anymore than that and if your not willing to sub them in if the other clan gets more people then they shouldn't be in the server. And they definitely SHOULDN'T SAY ANYTHING unless they are willing to play.
Harassing from the sidelines is a big issue in some matches and shouldn't happen. If your not playing and you refuse to play then SHUT YOUR MOUTH OR LEAVE!
Just my thoughts...
-
Actually its not your decision to add another player to the match. If you or they requested a 3v3, you will play a 3v3 unless BOTH teams agree on adding another player. Some teams like to have smaller numbers playing, some like bigger numbers.
-
I understand some teams might not want to add players. But is it really necessary to have 6+ people in a server for a 3v3 when they won't even sub? Let alone have the extras sit there and talk crap to the other team.
I'm not saying they have to play I'm just saying keep the numbers of subs down if they aren't going to play them and definitely keep them quiet.
-
You just have to /ignore them. It doesn't matter how many people are in the server watching, if they don't want to sub because they are winning, fine. They will sub when there is a need to, eg when one of the players is slacking off.
-
Well i was in a clan idk which but theres was a player of us he did let them win and asked to join their clan ( he left our clan ) they sed no that guy wanted to join back so we sed no tho cus he made us losse
-
I think memi's example is something else, really nothing to do with players joining mid match.
-
did the guy join in mid of match have a clan for the match?

Have you read the entire thread?

Once upon a time I wrote out a "match rule guide" if you will. It was fairly detailed but I never posted it. At the time I thought it wouldn't be received well and it probably wouldn't be received well now. Players continue to post threads such as this and nothing ever comes out of it. Maybe this is something we as a community could work on together. It would establish set guidleines (that could vary upon agreement of the teams matching) that had to be followed. At the same time it would weed out the weekend warrior clans and strengthen the clan community. The clan hoppers wouldn't be as numerous because they would need to have more than a three member squad. In my draft of rules it went as far as each team having a spokesperson to address the other team in an effort to clean up the blatant harassment in matches. For those of you who love to spit venom you could still do it in pubs. If anyone might be interested in something like this hit me up in irc. For something like this to work it would need the support of almost all the more established clans. It would take a ruling body, such as the committee, to review the guide lines and make rulings when there is a problem. This in itself would allow for a more regulated clan record. I don't even know why I'm trying to help. More than likely people will not take the time or effort to make something like this happen. Instead they will spend the time they could be helping thrashing the concept.

THRASH! THRASH! THRASH!
I admire your intentions, but I honestly think in this community, it won't work as well as you think.
-
The structure is there so it would work. On the flip side, I know what it will take to make it worth the effort. I thought my statements above showed that I didn't think it would ever happen. This community for the most part are to set in their ways.
