Title: Feature: Mac support
Post by: i_am_a_pirate on December 01, 2008, 10:24:41 AM
Cos we really need it!

With macs getting increasingly popular, I think that it's about time this got implemented. There are plenty of people that would play pball if it were available for a mac.
If you're gonna get it on linux (which we obviously already have), then you REALLY need to get this on mac!

EDIT

w00t! 600th post!!

bwahahaha.
and help apple by bringing down the notion that macs can't game? never!
i vote to keep games where they belong - on pcs. ;D

i also vote to encourage development of the much more important things on the feature-vote list, rather than having to worry about porting the game to yet another platform and multiplying jits's workload.

It's really only on linux for dedicated servers. Porting the game to macs wouldn't accomplish anything, imo.

Do you own a PC, a Mac, or Both?
Mac    - 0 (0%)
PC    - 21 (100%)
One or more of each    - 0 (0%)

gg.

yes, but remember what DT said: The game isn't available for mac, so mac users are a lot less likely to come to a forum for a game that they cant play!

it shouldn't even be a matter of feature voting, jitspoe should decide if expanding DP to Mac, which is a huge market, is worth the effort to do so.
Well, the feature vote system is how I go about deciding if something is worth the effort.  It's difficult to say how large the market is.  On the one hand, there probably aren't that many people with macs who want to play a paintball game.  On the other hand, if somebody only has a mac and wants to play a game, with only a handful to choose from, there's a much higher probability that they'd play this one.
