Since a few days the GLS shows me that my password is wrong and kicks me from every server. But my password is correct. If I go back to the main menu to re-log it accepts my password and i can play again. Then after 5 minutes on a server I'm getting kicked again with the message "Wrong password for username AsThor". This only happens if I'm playing under my main nick AsThor or under some new registered ones. Can you tell me why this happens or how I can fix it?

I have the message too, but without the kick :P
Sometimes it comes after 1 minute, sometimes after 10.

The message always appears. If I change my name to AsThor im getting kicked, every other nickname works.

same message for me. I can fix it by selecting Setup->Global Login Profile->Login, so by basically logging in twice it finally accepts the password. Is there a problem with the GLS Server (too high server load)?

same with me, sometimes a kick, sometimes not.

maybe you should use the different nickname this happend to me before and all i did was change my name and everything was alright after. hope i could somewhat help :D

Do other nicknames that you have registered, or are you talking about non-registered names that work? There shouldn't be anything special about "asthor". If one registered name works, any registered name works. Try setting your name without colors. Perhaps it's too long.

there are no colors in my name. and no i only get kicked after this message if i use asthor or a new-registered nick. i can continue playing with every other nick after the message

Same thing happens to me sometimes.

Same here, I could only fix it by changing my name or log in again

high server-load, high server latency etc.
something like that is probably causing it. not "too long nicknames". Since it apparently worked fine until mid-december of 2008.

I'm getting the same thing. Except sometimes it doesn't even log in. It just says, trying to connect to login server.... and stays there. I'm thinking its a server overload. Maybe bandwidth problems. I'm hoping it wont turn out to be a huge issue.

yea that "trying to connect to login server......." happens to me too i just ignore it and play on.

we need a re-connect script.
First Login try --> failed
New try
Second try --> failed
new try
third try --> failed
stay unlogged
because I hate it when I play and get kicked, because Login Server is 2slow
anything like this

In theory, if the server can't connect to the login server, it should let you play without logging in. Perhaps if the server CAN connect and the client CAN'T, then it boots you. I'll have to take another look at it. Perhaps I could add a couple retries, but if the game server connects, and the client doesn't, the login will still fail.

you would be better off to prevent the fire instead of trying to extinguish it after the house started burning.
What I mean is: everything worked fine until a few weeks ago, so maybe checking the serverlogs or looking into WHY the login fails often recently would be more helpful than creating a workaround with a few retries per login.

I think the login server is just getting overloaded at peak times and/or ISP's are dropping packets.
