Hi I'm new to this site and Paintball 2.
Anyway, I play the game and every 30 seconds the screen pauses for a few seconds, then resumes the game as usual.
It's really annoying as it causes me to die and stuff.
My computer has the following specs:
-Intel Core2Duo 6750
-2 GB Kinston Ram
-500GB hard drive (with ample space)
-Nvidia 8600GT 512MB graphics card.
Any ideas?

Do you use wireless connection? If yes, that can cause it. I had the same problem sometimes and it was because of the wireless connection.
-
I play non-internet at the moment, so no connection problems.
-
Maybe change graphic card drivers?
-
I'll see about that.
Oh and I'll add one more thing - During the few second lag, any sounds such as the gun noise or people dying, segments of the sound get repeated over and over.
-
same thing happens to me except a little connection logo thingy pops up un the corner
-
Its the Vista Wireless. It polls for networks every 30-60 seconds.

Oh and my OS is Windows XP.

Maybe a virus scanner or something running in the background? Try running task manager and see what process is using the most CPU when paintball2 freezes up.
-
same thing happens to me now. Its been happening ever since i added the cvars to speed it up! Before I did, it just froze for a fraction of a second, only every few seconds. But now its exactly as fuzz says. I've got rid of almost every process (including explorer.exe!) and it still happens - sometimes worse.

I'm trying to find out whether it's my computer or its the program that's causing it... Maybe my friend downloading it stuffed it up... not sure.

I'm using an 8600GT as well, and I don't have any problems, so you can scratch video card compatibility off the list. I'm using old drivers though (like 2 years old) so I guess you could try downgrading your drivers.
-
I bought my computer 25th December 2007. I'm completely out of ideas, I don't think the video drivers are to do with it. I'll try downloading DP2 again.

What kinda internet have you got? Who's your ISP? What connection speed (the actual one - not the maximum)?

Not using internet... as I said already.

Ah yeah, sorry. Same thing happens with me. I just put it down to low specs and an ATI graphics card

I know this is bringing up a somewhat old topic, but I downloaded the latest build (26 - I had 23 before) and the problem is now gone.
