Title: AIM - Removing that annoying flashing icon.
Post by: jitspoe on February 08, 2006, 07:44:39 PM
It seems AOL has decided to send everybody some kind of notification to their AIM mail, which I'm sure most of you don't use, but you may be stuck wondering, "What is this weird icon on AIM, and why won't it stop blinking?" I'm using some ancient version of AIM, so it looked like some kind of 3-colored blob rather than a mail box. It took me a while to figure out how to get rid of it. I thought I'd share my discovery:

My AIM > Edit Options > Edit Preferences > Mail

Uncheck everything.

Or use gaim.
