Title: Sound Not Working
Post by: TM on February 10, 2006, 02:21:44 PM
Hi, Unfortunatly paintball has no sound when I run it. I have ignored this for a while but now it is starting to get irritating as I can't hear where footsteps are coming from and when someone shots etc.

The sound always used to work fine untill I upgraded to build 15 about a month ago. I have tried uninstalling all versions of paintball and then installing build 14 again but to no avail. I then installed build 15 over build 14 and have just ignored the prolem, up untill now.

Whenever paintball starts or when I attempt to restart the sound (snd_restart) it puts the following error message into the console:

---------------Sound Initilisation---------------
Cmd_AddCommand: play already defined
Cmd_AddCommand: stopsound already defined
Cmd_AddCommand: soundlist already defined
Cmd_AddCommand: soundinfo already defined
LoadLibrary (q2a3d.dll) Failed
Error loading up q2a3d Module.
One of the library files needed to run this application cannot be found.
------------------------------------------------------

It sounds as if it needs the file q2asd.dll but when I look in my paintball folder it is there. Should it be in my sounds folder for example insted. Or is one of the library files a different file that someone can send to me?

This is really starting to get irritating.

Thanks for anyones help in advance.

-TM

Problem solved! Thanks for the quick responce jitler.

I did the fist thing you recomended. Do the two things do the same thing? Does setting 's_a3rd' to 0 turn the 3D sound of? Or does it do something different? Once again, thanks.
