during game play its playing good, then all the sudden i get this error message "Net_GetPacket: WSAENOTSOCK from 92.51.145.48: 11111" and it freezes and i have to restart the game. Can any one help me?
-
It sounds like your missing a file of some sort. Do you have EVERYTHING for Paintball and is your machine good enough?
What OS?

Yeah, that's not it at all. It's seems to have something to do with the socket being closed or misplaced or something crazy like that. Like Fuzz Ball said, what OS?
-
The thing that made me think something was missing was the 'Net_GetPacket'.
I'm really not all that sure. It's a really weird error message that I've never come across, or have come across anything like it.
-
OT: another one where in a month or two I'm sure will pass my post count :/
Anyways, does it only happen on one server you try to play, or many servers?
-
I've had this come up in my console when I lag, but I don't think it affects anything. You have to exit dp in order for it to stop? When my ocmputer is finished lagging out it stops saying this message and the lag goes away.
-
This usually happens when you are having connections issues.
-
Do you play wireless?
I get that message when my i lose connection to my network
-
If your asking me, yes I use wireless. I think his problem is that his paintball freezes after this happens.
-
That is the message you get when a server goes offline and you are still in it.

I don't see how he would get it though when servers rarely shutdown/restart, at least ones with lots of people in them.
-
If it's not server or connecting problems then we're missing probably the main question:
What OS are you using.
-
He's using windows (or wine).
-
Ok that's the question I wanted answered.
I'm happy now. :D

I don't think so. Happens to me when the internet connection goes offline, not the server in dp.
-
It just means that the packets cannot reach the server. The reason could be anything: the server could have just gone down, your Internet connection could have just failed, your wifi link could have gotten disconnected, or something could have happened along the way.
However, the real problem is that his game is freezing, which must be indicative of a bigger problem. I think the only person that can really chime in here with a suggestion is Jit (or someone who knows Q2's networking well).

just like sk89q and a few others have said.
