Arr arr! Hi again! Today i want to show you my 4th map that i'm thinking to finish.
Basically it's just 2-flag CTF map, with low and high center area. Notice that the ice in the middle aren't for jumps, they're just an atistic feature.

It looks really nice. I like it.
Maybe:
- change the low ice sea to a normal sea
- add clip brushes around the lamps (low way)

Ok thanks. I knew that edge, but forgot to fix it. Theres also wrong texture on the ceiling in the blue tunnel. And sky is raised, that you wont hit it when u come from the tunnel and try to jump true the hole in the wall.
I can change the water-ice thing in tunnel to pure water. Then there is no need for clips at the lamps, cause they were intentionally left with out clips, wanted to annoy ice jumpers :P

if you really dont want people you can just make the ice not slippery, it may not be realistic but it fixes the problem

Bugs that are found are fixed too now, only thing is that you can still walk on the walls, i don't know if it is bad or not. Also theres no ice in the tunnel behind the bases, so ice spots are fine now.

Maybe u could work on the things from my first screen again? They are much better now, but not 100% :P

The design of this map looks really nice, however, you need to work on the lighting. In some places (mid, top) the light is almost blinding and looks like the map isn't even lit. Then in others it's almost completely black. Make the outside a bit darker, the inside a bit brighter, and this could be a really nice looking map if you do it right.

Yeah agreeing with Zorchenhimer. Just the strategic advantage of being in a really dark place shooting out into the really bright place is a problem.
It looks a little tacky with weird lighting, but a really nice design.

I would not like to change lightning inside, i like gloomy tunnels :P. But the sun lghtning just sucks, i already know that. I somehow messed my sun settings from the beginning and haven't fixed them (waiting to someone come yelling about it to me...)

From the title, I was kind of hoping for a map with a giant cliff over the edge of outer space or something. :)

I like mine :) But that CTP metal textureis missing hr4 or it's crappy looking, because i haven't scaled it up or nothing. But i changed it to other.

Beta 3 is almost done, just want opinions on this one:
2nd flags are in the end of that corridor, you know it. Example, if you grab red flag and go to 2nd, grab it and come out, you're in the blue side of the mid. So here's a image how i would like to change it, tell me which one you prefer.

Okay, i've made 3rd beta ready and here it is.

Small fixes, sun lightning is much better IMO, darker... Screenie below.
But i found new problem: sun is shining where it shouldn't be shining (look pic). Sun angle is correct, i checked it. So WTF is wrong with my sun settings all the time?!?! "_sun_angle" "29.5422 -23.2745"

I don't think the map uploaded correctly. I tried to download it from the attachment, and nothing happened. Then I went on to the server to grab it from the attachments directory directly, and it wasn't even there.
I don't know why you always seem to struggle so much with the sun lighting, lol. I can't help you much from the screenshots. You might try using integers, like "30 -23". I also tend to fudge the downward angle a little bit, since the sun is so low in most skies everything ends up being in shadow. So maybe "30 -35" or so. You also need to turn your ambient light way down. I'd try 60.
A couple other things I noticed when I loaded the old map up to look at where the sun was:
- The barrels should be aligned so the circle on the top of the texture matches up closely to the shape of the barrel. Looks like whatever high-res textures you're using are wrong..
- There's a little lip of wall to the right of the barrel pile that I keep hitting when I do the ice jump. A clip brush would be helpful there (on both sides). Also, a clip brush coming down from the sky so you don't hit your head on the arch would be nice, too.

With that screenshot i tried to show how the sun is shining from wrong direction. That wall should be fully in shadow! And still top of it gets the heat of the sun...
AND GIMME SOME FEEDBACK of that 2nd flag route!

I think i'm going to make another beta ready today, but i would like to get some feedback at my question about the 2nd flag route.

Okay, i forgot to finish beta 4 earlier ;D But now it's ready, i've fixed the sun, looks A LOT better imo, changed the 2nd föag route and i beg you give me opinions about it :'(
To Jits, i didn't add those clips and will not if i change the route back to mid, cause your "small lips" are pretty big if i understood what you meant. Also i don't change the barrels, i would have to rethink a lot.

1. could be possible, i'll make it if i come up with a nice solution :)
2. it would be too fast, so there would be no intetion to take other routes.
I've played this a lot on beta server, people seem to like it, i haven't seen anyone saying that they're lost or it has bad gameplay. And also got confirmed that the low and high routes are as equal as possible :)

Another awesome map. With unique design :-o. I like the design of base area especially. Mid high doesn't really surprise me. Wall-snow-sky-barrels. Seen that. You can think of something better :D.

One fix i know, is that i have to add DSM barrier for low route ro 2nd flag. I think the rest is in pretty good condition.

:P I like mine, because they make the map look more bright, not so gloomy like yours !!!!1!!

I like JeeJee's textures more. The other ones are too dark and dirty.
