Add gun jamming instead of single click, that way people can still spray some but not hold the button down all the time. To clear the gun jam you have to dump your co2 etc...
Give each gun a chance to jam every shot that is cumulative (like 1 percent to start) and dont even bother checking until the total chance goes over like 10 or something. Different guns could jam easier and such. What do you guys think?

i don't want a 5-second wait every 25 shots.
i think it's a good idea, but without the co2, you should have to just stop spraying.
-
what i was thinking was that if you dont shoot for a full second then your jam-perecnt goes back down, so you'll only jam up if you spray way too much. Also the co2 thing makes jamming into something to fear :)

Just dont let the CO2 last as long as it does...
-
or lower the reload time. 2-3 sec?
-
Some maps dont have much co2 (arctic anyone?) so making EVERYONE reload all the time wouldnt work too well.
-
i dont want a 5 second wait+time to look for more co2 in a 'dogfight'

#if defined(sarcasm)
What! Make this game more realistic!
#endif
which do you want? Q2 DP or a realistic Paintball game?
There would be other major items (like jumping 12 feet into the air for starts) to FIX that would be ahead of this, but it would be in the top 10

If you don't spray all the time, you don't have to reload all the time. :)

Ya I understand that jit, but the whole point of my suggestion was to find a way to stem the tide of spraypainters while avoiding single click shooting. This idea would only affect people who just run around with the darn mouse button taped down, which causes lag also if im correct.

Another option might be to require loading paintballs. As it is now, as long as you have plenty of co2, you can run around holding the mouse button down and just run over ammo packs. If you actually had to take the time to load the ammo into your hopper, you'd be more careful about the ammo you used.
I'm going to tread carefully in this area though. If there's one thing I've learned, it's that people hate change -- even if it's for the better.

People don't like extremely significant changes to things years after they've become well acquainted! ;)

Like gl_modulate hacks.
/me pukes on super-bright multi-colored maps.

Uck you puked all over me! =P

hey, the new bboard version fixed the slash-me thing. :)

i tthink having gun jams is a great thing to have.. cause then it gives more skilled players who can sort of "dodge" shots a better chance at winning.. instead of now where u have to actually run through the spray to kill sum 1... example !arctic! where there is either high or low... sum 1 is spraying either way so a gun jam would give sum 1 enough time to run in there and actually have a chance
-
Problem with arctic is that it's too small for anything larger than a 1v1.

i agree 100%

If he continues, he may have enough puke on his head that it will eventually reach the grand destination of his ears. Should the pukeiness make it inside, he may have to clean it out with this, which is a very painful process, since virtual puke is quite difficult to remove, usually leading to surgical procedures that can go wrong 95% of the time:
