There will be 9 maps used in the regular season of the 2009 Summer PBCup. eR33t-Gaming has already decided on roughly 5 maps (out of 9) but we would like to hear more from the community.
What maps do you want? Bear in mind they need to be suited for 4v4 team gameplay.
What style of maps do you want? ie 2 flag, ice, etc.
Use this thread to discuss what maps you want.
NOTE: This thread will be updated as maps are decided.

As of right now we are holding off on pbcup_pforest due to fact it is played in nearly every match. Ren is solid, talked it over and it was added to the list.

That's pretty stupid. Why dont you play the maps that people enjoy playing.. its not always about change. PBcup_Pfoerst should be an option in map choices. If you are going for maps that people don't play add in propaint 2. Choosing maps that people havn't even heard of 'twilling' is a change but stick to what people like, if you dont it may shy off other players in the game. I tried out the twilling map its decent but who wants to play a beta of a map.

At least one map from the more recent eastern european mappers.
No ice maps would be cool but thats just a personal opinion.
And please, don't let the best map of this game out of this cup: Castle1

Castle1 is already in there :)
We are trying to stay away from maps that can be easily camped. People will go to lengths to win tournaments. Maps like pp2 and ub_rooftops can easily be camped by four people.

I understand, but I feel propaint2 is a very fun map and not that easy to camp as long as the attack has some ability + teamplay.

Wobluda has performance issues. Unless it were fixed I think it would be bad to include.

Discovery isn't overplayed, good for a 4vs4 teamplay and not easy to camp, could be perfect. I would like to see my map in the pool ;)

We are staying away from prolandr because it plays too fast. Wobluda lags too many people and has too much spray over the middle. Sphouse house is still up for discussion.

sphouse is a good map. What do you think about Midnight?

You can jump off boxes or go mid high. There are also several windows / places to shoot across at the other team.

you can still sit and camp easily. It's a pos map. just pick another one instead of this useless one taking up a slot

Camping alone isn't going to get you a win on that map.
pbcup_2fort5 should be ready soon.

My opinion is that Crimethink and Pbcup_sanctuary should be replaced by 2 other maps. But other then that, looks good.

Just throwing out some ideas so it isn't just Dirtytaco and Bob making every map on the list.

They all seem rather good, besides crimethink and pbcup_sanctuary... Replace those with some newer maps, could be a good idea.

I only see 3 maps that me and dt actually made from scratch. The rest are just improvements to existing maps.

Crimethink is staying for sure. People nowadays don't want to play any map where they actually have to get the equipment.
Thats only because people who release maps release them with everything loaded, a cocker or a carbine, and boom, off you go. So many complaints when I had VM's and Stingrays in one of my maps....

If people don't want to play any maps where they have to get equipment.... then why have them.
I don't mind getting equipment, i just find the gameplay on the map isn't good, since it's soo large and most people are missing equipment, so you fly right by them. But I guess I can get proven wrong when it gets played in PBCup.

Right now the team with the most skill will probably win pbcup_pbsanctuary. Whoever has better aim generally wins. For the most part you know where the other team, it is just a matter of hitting them.

The best team will probably win every map, that's not the point...

Have you considered using mirror2? The only downfall with that map is the glitch and I'm sure you can make some rules to prevent its use.

Im fine with every map there except crimethink, just never liked that map's layout. would of like to have seen ccc on there but ah well.

In rettrospective, having pbcup_sanctuary as a torunament map was criminal, what a boring map to play on
