I have one.... but its my own.  I'm not handing out my 30 minutes worth of accuracy to anyone.  Use what T3RROR15T said, then you can make your own ones on any map :).

Can you just read the post on dp resource?  I didn't know what a loc file was, but I'm gonna go make some now because I can understand simple directions.

I don't see the point in asking for loc files when most clans have different recon for things.

Wow it's nice ;). For other who cant use it:
1. Copy the loc.txt file in menus directory
2. Start Paintball2
3. Type in console: cl_drawlocs 1
4. Type in console: menu loc
5. Learn how to use it :P. - Just practise a lil bit.

Locs are just about as pointless as the Dj script is.

Well when you open the game in one of those maps and type cl_drawlocs 1 are you supposed to be able to see the lil diamonds cuz im not. and the locs folder should be in pball right?
Title: Re: Loc file
Post by: Kyuuchi on July 24, 2009, 04:09:04 PM
Right

When you type cl_drawlocs 1 - make sure that you have LOCs for THAT map - otherwise u wont see diamonds
:)
and yes in your C:\Games\Paintball2\Locs
and it must be a LOC file

Do you have to type anything in, like /load_locfile?
Title: Re: Loc file
Post by: abnormal on July 25, 2009, 04:41:47 AM

Nope, it will load automatically. When you are playing a map, it should write this: "map's name".loc found and loaded.

hmm that doesn't work for me. Ill just make them manually then. I've already done pp1 and airtime.

Locs are just about as pointless as the Dj script is.

DJ Script is the best one in the game...

rofl. The dj script is terrible. You cant jump certain boxes. Just use +moveup.

Ty AsThor :). I used to use the dj script then i realized how terrible it was. Foxhound, don't use it. If you want to be a good jumper, do it the right way. Ask people like Spook, or Skyline, some of the best jumpers in the game, and they will say they don't use the dj script, which they don't. It might be hard getting off of it but you will get used to it. Believe me.

I have both binds, for normal jumps and dj script ;) and its same with dj or without.. (4me)

Suit yourself. I DO think it's wiser not to use it, but I didn't think that when I was using it, then I realized how much of a better jumper I became using normal jumping.

is there a website that they are already made

To Nook:
A website where locs are already made or a website for the dj script?
If it's locs just go to team92.de, go to downloads and then click loc files and download them into your C:\Games\Paintball2\locs folder.
I will not tell you about the dj script though because I presume you already have it from being in 1311 (they gave it to me)

Um i never used the dj script because i thought it was pointless to have it... they gave it 2 you because you suck at DP

how do you use them what do you bind to use them??
Title: Re: Loc file

Nice double post. You put the locs in your loc folder and go into the game and type in console /bind say_team $$loc_here
Title: Re: Loc file
Post by: AsThor on August 09, 2009, 12:32:49 PM
for probably better recon u could add bind <key> say_team FLAG is $$loc_here
Title: Re: Loc file
Post by: pheeks on August 10, 2009, 09:13:08 AM
Oh my bad lol. I meant /bind <key> say_team $$loc_here.
To show where your locs are you need to write cl_drawlocs 1 in the console.
To AsThor:
Your technique would only work when the other team had possesion of the flag (it is a great idea) because it would be like... FLAG is HIGH-BD. The only thing about it for all the people who will try it is to bind say_team $$loc_here to a different key than asthors technique.

other possibilities would be 2 are or 3 are or he is and whatever

Or you could just make it so it says LOW instead of saying HE IS

"LOW" what? Flag is low? Somebody is camping low? I'm going low? Incoming low? Have you ever tried to recon in a match before, ever?

locs are actually very annoying, Its better to just type it out, But locs could be used for simple recon but not for all recon...
