Ever since digital paint, and then CS I have yet to come across a mod that pleased every aspect of my opinion of a necessity in a mod. Until now, I've recently downloaded and really got into the mod NEOTOKYO for HL2. I like it so much, within the first few days I went ahead and started renting my own server. If you have steam, and HL2DM (which is only $5) you can enjoy this mod. It implements a CTF-like gameplay and requires a good amount of teamwork, similar to digitalpaint. Check out this trailer http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MOh3xYPrYF8 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MOh3xYPrYF8) and visit http://www.neotokyohq.com/ (http://www.neotokyohq.com/) to download.

I've been playing it with some friends lately. It's pretty fun.
I like the people. They're much better mannered and mature than the people you find in most games.
-
I think it's a pretty cool game as well, once you get the hang of it. Definitely requires much more teamwork than DP.
I'm not a huge fan of their level design, which seems to more often than not be 'Hey let's just throw a bunch of rooms and halls together and see how it works out', but the game's still perfectly playable.

The maps promote non-linear gameplay though, which is always interesting. You always have to watch your back, or preferably, have someone else watching your back.
-
They also promote "Where the intercourse am I" and "Thank God for the HUD thing that tells me where everything is".
But yeah, good game.

You get used to the maps. I've gotten used to some. But yeah, I was so confused and lost when I first played.
It takes some time (a few days) to get used to the game, but that probably weeds the bad eggs out.
One thing I don't like though is that the winning team gets better upgrades for the game, so the divide in skill can get even worse. Although if the teams are even from the beginning, it's not a problem.
@P!nk: Thanks!

I'll definitely check that out, looks sweet.

But they probably don't have mics.

Looks cool gonna give it a go thanks

How does it compare to the UT2004 version?

Today I learned that support is imba. Always be support. Maneuverability means nothing in this game, any attentive player can pretty easily tell when there's camo about, and smoke grenades are so awesome.
EDIT: and they have like triple the health of a recon.
-
Support is useless if you see a grenade land at your feet or you get surrounded. You can't run and you sure can't handle the bullets, even with triple the health of a recon.
