Title: Name Registration problem

I've started playing DP a little more over the past few months after not playing for a while. I've been using "MeRL" for the past 10 years, and before that in QW. Up until recently (last Saturday), I had no issues connecting to servers. Last night and today I started getting auto kicked. Seems that someone has registered the name "merl" and thus I can't use it anymore.

Since I was able to connect to servers without registering my name, I never realized it was a requirement to register it in order to be the only one allowed to use it. I guess I haven't been following the new build's or news all that much and have simply played when I can.

Are there any suggestions on what I can do to simply use this name again.. the name I've been using since before Q2dp was even created?

Or am I completely S.O.L.? :'(
Any help is appreciated.

As for the comment from P!nk, how would I go about getting that done? Or do you think I should contact the person who registered it, out of courtesy first?

Unsure what any of that says.. my best guess is that I need to login.. or register.

Any chance he's ever on IRC or any of you guys know the guy and can put me in touch with him.. or contact him for me?
