Don't know the actual specs but its 6 years old and recently its been making funny noises etc. Also its pretty slow (though that's probably because its filled with junk) and has been getting weird dots on the screen/dp
or could it be my monitor? =[

Modified textures = ban
If it's just in paintball, reinstall paintball. If it's other places as well, check your memory. If that's all okay, then I would guess that you need a new video card.
-
No its not just pball, what exactly do you mean check your memory? What am i checking for? :-[
-
Ah, I believe something memtest-y (http://www.google.com/search?q=memtest) would work. But really, I bet Knack knows more about it than I do.
-
If your computer is making funny noises, your fans are probably getting old and dirty.

Modified textures where?
Also, those dots in the sky, do they move when you do? Or are they stationary, as in on the monitor itself?

Orite. Thought that was a bug, sometimes walls flicker black/textured when I move on my laptop (ATi :P).

Well, finally got around to it since my problems have gotten worse. The memtest said there were no problems.. so it's probably my video card?
PS. new symptoms:
-extremely slow
-internet disconnects on and off all the time
-computer totally freezes often
-startup is slow
-the pixels you see in my screenies above have gotten more extreme and more frequent
-
viruses? or Maybe a early warning of a total computer crash, you might want to back up your important files or all files....
-
Just back up your HD. Last time I moved to a new computer, the HD one of the few things I was keeping. While moving it, it became destroyed somehow, and :(

Thanks, I was hoping to salvage this as long as I could since my dad bought a mac and won't buy a new pc if this one dies.
-
id be lookin into a new video card man, exact same thing happend to me when i melted my card into my motherboard :p
dp2 seems to be rough on video cards =\
-
Actually, I find that to be true too. DP was the only game that ever crashed my one of my 9800 GTX's, Crysis, Counter Strike, Crysis Wars. Nothing.

this is what mine looked like right before it died.

Lightning struck my neighbors router that I was hard wired to... Now, my MB's network card and the network cable are both fried.... I'll have to buy a new one, and re-bury new network cable all the way to my neighbors house... :/

Just download Tune-Up Utilities 2009 and run some of that stuff.
But really, that'll just help with all of the useless stuff you have, but it's definitely your video card going bad.
