Hi all! It's time to show my 9th map, which is small but still really nice map :D
It supports CTF, 1-flag and DM, but it is possible to make Koth there, if you want ;)
Design isn't the most unique possible, but still nice :)

Quickly looked through this map, looks pretty good. It's good to see your going to finish this map.

Pretty simple map - I mean the paths.. The lighting etc. is good. Maybe the base will be much easy to camp. Just 2 ways to base - and from the same side..

The best thing about this map is quite noticeably the lighting - looks awesome
i haven`t looked around in it yet, but i expect good things coming from the palace of fortune oO

I wasn't looking for really fancy looking map or anything, sometimes it's fun to make something simple. The base isn't super easy to defend, when there isn't much to take cover. But i'll make some new attack points, most likely to sidewalls.

In my latest maps, i've spent much more time on lights. It affects so much to the overall appearance of the map. You can be sure that something good comes from there ;) :P

Beta 2 ready, hint brushes added and 2 entrances into base

Nice map. I agree with the others that the lighting is excellent. But yes, the map is short.
It's a little ironic that the maps called "A Long Way to Palace of Fortune" when the route to each flag is short. ;D

Either remove good guns or change traccers into spyder or vm at least. Base is quite campable, right high corner when you look from flag perspective is a place where you can see anyone who enters the base. You could make some underground path to flag or cover it somehow with a kind of a shield.

I think i need to remake all the spawns. I managed to make a mess of them when i added extra spawns for other gamemodes.

You mean like cover the flag with a shield or what?

Yes, cover flag with a shield (let's say, blitz alike shield), so that whoever grabs doesn't have to run out of base in an instant and can wait for team to help.

That could work, but it may prevent you grabbing the flag quickly from the front, if the shield is too big. I'll wokr out something for beta 3.
Further, i've moved the paths coming out from side further in the base, so you can take cover from the staircase faster.
Feel free to tell more of your opinions :P

Played it a few times in pub. It takes the whole 20 minutes. Gets a little boring after a while. Only my opinion though. Others seemed to like it.

Gosh, when something simple comes, people complain about it all the time :P
On a serious note, i wanted to make something simple, it's much fun after making all kinds of crazy stuff :D

You need to add a ".txt" to that. Always check the console for errors and warnings!
I've uploaded the map to the beta server and attached a demo with revision suggestions. The lighting looks good, but you need to make it a lot brighter. It's very difficult to see other players.

I'm not going to make all spots lighter, some are dark intentionally. But i'll tweak them for next beta.

You need to add like -scale 3 to the lighting stage. Be sure to test the map on the default settings. It's really difficult to see anything.

I use default brightness settings. Maybe my monitor is super bright :O

i thought it was a good map :) i liked the use of double jumps to get higher instead of ramps

I've made b4 to this map because blaa wanted to use it 1-flag because we couldn't get the .ent file for roundup made. So i basically made some areas lighter, added some custom inidcators and such.. Hoping that someone plays it in the cup:p
