In supermans pub, my normal ping is at 110-140 but at the worst of my peak I got upto 500? I didnt think much of it because it died down to under 200 but then I put on my netgraph and saw this:
Can someone tell me what it means & how to improve it?
Btw, I already put all the "anti-lag" binds in ages ago
-
get a better graphic card
-
or even better buy a whole new computer
-
My graphics card is: VIA/S3G UniChrome IGP
-
Black lines are packet loss. Getting a better graphics card probably won't help that any. That has to do with your network connection or ISP.
-
Hmm, thanks. I'll probably check my connections later
Btw, is my graphics card any good? Cos lol 100fps aint that good but it'll do :P
-
100 fps is plenty.
-
100 fps is plenty.
I don't think we can tell the difference after 60fps anyway.
-
Especially since most monitors don't usually refresh more often than 60-80 Hz.
-
i know this topic has gottin a bit old but whats the 'anti-lag' binds?
-
the difference between 500 and 100 fps is great tho. Even though it can't technically be seen, a 500+ fps is a lot smoother than 100. I guess its because the fps variates so much and doesn't match up with the monitors fps. I've never capped my fps to match my monitor to see if that's what it is though. :P

Anything beyond your monitor's refresh rate is useless, and just adds screen tearing. Unless you have a really slow PC, vsync = your friend.

thanks edge

vsync = your friend.
no no no no no no no. I don't know if vsync in pball works like vsync in quakelive does, but turning on vsync TOTALLY intercoursed up my rails. Stick with what you're used to.

thanks edge
There are some more command lines for reducing lag, use search, there were few threads about it and it might be helpfull for you.

thanks again thats been alot of help :)
