Hi there,
after updating my servers to build16, half of the logins dont work anymore. They still appear in the cvarlist, but when they are entered, it always displays the "bad password" message.
Another thing is passwords. For some reason, setting passwords from my rcon-tool on my website doesnt work anymore. When I enter a password & login there, it will not show an error, but send an empty password request to the server and not even create the login (well, maybe it's created but doesn't work, like half of the normal passwords). Help/Fix/Hint please.

well, i've tried renting out both GT servers and memi server, and when i do, the servers don't seem to have any password on. the login pass i choose doesn't work either.
also, i could set my pass on my own server my typing.. password "passhere"
now when i do that it times out after a short while.

i guess it has something to do with the matchmode stuff jits implemented? at least the password-thing sounds like it
-
Make sure you use the "numpasses" cvar. Also, if allow_match is set to 1, oppass1 gets used for the match command.
-
I guess that should've been mentioned somewhere, like in the readme... I had trouble to even find it anywhere, but at least thats in the wiki.
-
numpasses has always been there. I'm not sure what caused build 16 to act any differently. I did add it to the new server.cfg file, though, so it's eaiser for people to see.
-
well, as I'm using the same (personalized) server.cfg as with build14, you must have changed something in the code, even if that is just the default value for numpasses (which is 5 right now). I've had about 10-15 logins all the time before.
-
Then change numpasses to however many you have.
-
have already :)

jitspoe, you mentioned "allow_match", but i cannot find that variable on my server... also, it is not in the wiki. how does it work? why is it not set in the cvars?
-
another thing popped up tonight...
it looks like the server variables are being overwritten after a certain timespan... like a reset to the matchmode-settings or maybe to the default-settings. That totally screws any sense of using a matchserver. Even when using a server with password, that password will time out quite soon (before the 2nd map is finished....), and besides that, server settings just change in the middle of the game.
if you cannot resolve that, I will downgrade my servers again to build14, even if they are not on the global list anymore and do not have your oh-so-cool cheat protection.

yea, allow_match is 0
but still the configs are being overwritten every some minutes. I didnt specify any publicmode.cfg-file, so does it just use server.cfg instead to overwrite them?
besides that, the password times out even if there are people on the server.
-
Look at my pbcup config(pbc-iota.cfg), Pureblood.
I've got just the right amount of hidden and not well known cvars that prevent the timeouts from messing things up ;)
-
How many people? It shouldn't time out if there are more than 1. I'll look into it.
-
any amount of people...
-
Do you have any logs you could paste, by chance?
-
nope :S
