Hmm well I sort of had this idea for a new game mode on dpthat I have seen elsewhere.
If you don't recognise the name it's basically where one team has to protect an object or V.I.P as it moves from one point on the map to another, while the other team has to try and attack it.
Once the attacking team gets a certain number of hits on the target, or the defending team protects it all the way, they win the round and it switches.
It's pretty fun if you've ever played it in other games, and it allows for good team dynamics and the ability to set up a good ambush too. :)

CS had this, but it never was all that popular. I don't think it would work in paintball2 too well, especially with the rate at which people join and leave servers. You could have a 5v5, then all of a sudden most of the people quit and you're playing 1 on 1 -- then who is to protect the VIP?

besides that what jitspoe said: 1-Path maps arent that good for a VIP escort.

Americas Army has this plus multipul objectives. For instance protect VIP and get obectives. Plus also multipul KOTH objects. Very fun and addictive if you can find enough players, which by the way is very easy to find. Once you have a small player base to build on, this would be very succesful. By proxy, this would teach people one path maps are stale and down right stinky compaired to the teamwork needed to complete these objective.

We'd need some more teamwork-inducing features. Like a little arrow above all of your teammates' heads?

heh for some reason i dont think the vip would last long if he was out in one shot.

You know what would be fun/interesting to try... making players die only when they have been hit more than once. It could be a server variable.
That would actually be really interesting. Jits, could you easily do this as to not take too much away from your very buisy schedule?

3 body shots could be a kill, or one headshot. That's how we play in the hood, but in the hood we play in a burned down trailer park, it truely is an awesome place to play.

I don't think there should be headshots. The balls aren't that accurate. It'd be luck instead of skill.
