Title: Keyboard Problem
Post by: Coltter on November 06, 2009, 09:31:56 AM
Hey all ,
Could you maybe help me out? I got a little problem with my keyboard that other ppl have too i guess. I can't press W, A and space at the same time, what is necessary to bunnyhop ingame.
Keyboard Name : Logitech MX 3200

Cya.

I bet the keys W A and SPACE are using the same circuit... this can't be fixed, so you'll have to move jump to another key, preferably the right click.

It's a pretty high quality keyboard, by a respectable supplier, £42, that really shouldn't be the case joonas. My £6 unbranded keyboard works even!

You cannot press 3 keys at once and expect them all to function on a game. For example, if you pressed w, d, and space, the space bar wouldn't register to the keyboard.

Taken from a Logitech MX 3200 user review I found on newegg.

edit: delete this post, it's unnecessary

This post has a really good description of what they call N-Key Rollover, the problem you're describing. They have a couple suggestions for 6 and full-key rollover, but they're a little expensive. You can probably find a cheap PS/2 keyboard that doesn't have the 3-key rollover problem.

nice link bain. microsoft 3000 passed the 6 key usb max. not sure i would recommend the combo set though because its wireless and the mouse was crap. meddling scroll wheel swelled up and ultimately got bound on the bottom of its carriage. no way to fix this.

i'd also recommend staying away from wireless keyboards in general. this being my first, i didnt realize the lag it would introduce. made my playing a whole lot sloppier. it also had issues with sharing the same receiver as the mouse, both seemed to have their hotspots on opposite sides (unless youre a lefty). had to jerry-rig some parabolic reflectors to make it usable.
