Title: Sleep Deprivation
Post by: bug on May 02, 2006, 07:30:29 PM
Just a question I thought up while high on caffeine and in a sleep deprived state.

Must, finish, c-c-coding...

Something which may be of help to you who earnestly desire to stay the whole night through: Double brewed coffee. This was taken from another site, of which for decency's sake, I will not post here.

DOUBLE BREWED COFFEE:
Let me start this by saying that coffee barely effects me. I love it, but it takes a LOT to even feel anything. The most wired I've ever been on 'normal' coffee was after I chugged a 6 shot espresso, and it lasted about a minute. You may have noticed that I wrote 'normal'. Well, if you guessed that abnormal coffee is what this article is about, then you were right. Double brewed coffee is the name.

Note: As far as I know, you're going to need a coffee maker, I don't think there is a way to do it with instant coffee.

Its pretty much exactly what the name says:

1.Brew a pot of coffee.

2.Repour that pot into the coffee maker, and refill the coffee grinds.

3.Rebrew.

I drank about 3 cups of this stuff and was actually sick. I drank it at about 12 at night and was up at 6 in the morning with my mind going a million miles a second and my stomach feeling like trash. Around 3:00 AM I felt like I was actually 'high'. I couldn't think straight, and everything just had a weird feeling to it.

Granted, I did use a sick amount of grind for both brews. Still, play it safe, a cup of it will probably be enough to have you bouncing off the walls. If you want, you can always try stewing your favorite caffinated tea with it, although it just makes the already nasty taste a million times worse.

I'm usually on aim talking to my fellow insomniacs up untill 4 am, then someone always calls me, finally I go to sleep at 5 am and wake up for school at 6:30 am...which is why I usually sleep all day Friday after school, every week.
Oh, and I usually manage about an hour of sleep in school   =D

Hm, looking back, is this how late you intentionally stay up, or how late it is before you finally fall asleep.  If it's the latter, I may have to change my vote to 5-6am.
