Well I wouldn't find it as he's crazy.. In other games you have to pay for some account, or to get steam version or whatever else, and last but not least it's not your bussiness what does he want to do with his money, at all. You could also laugh at the ones who pay for servers You play on.
Anyway I'm also curious how much would that be ^^.

Only if he decided to check with his work and plan to file extra income for taxes. :P Those were reasons why he didn't want to before.

Also, I believe anything 'won/gifted/etc' under $600 does not have to be filed for income taxes.
