Title: Account Activation Failed, help???
Post by: DragonForce on December 30, 2010, 12:41:30 PM
I have a discussion board account, however when trying to get a dp login account so as to join a clan, the activation link in the email I recieved brought me to this:

Username: dragonforce
Activation Number: **********
Player ID: 81265
Activation failed. Incorrect activation number.

(N.B- I havereplaced the real activation number with ***)

I have tried creating an account with a different email, a different computer, and typing the activation code manually- all of which bring me the same message- incorrect activation number.

(N.B- When I have tried again using a different email, I am told that :
An account already exsists but is not activated. Overwriting inactive account.
So I presume the problem is not caused by alleged multiple accounts)

Kyuuchi, theres 3 'Dragonforce' accounts, all that have not been activated. One has the player ID he has posted.

Player ID:   81265
Name registered:   dragonforce
This account has not been activated.

Player ID:   94523
Name registered:   dragonforce
This account has not been activated.

Player ID:   152383
Name registered:   dragonforce
This account has not been activated.

I guess dplogin.com is trying to send the activation for the first 'dragonforce' account, instead of the one you made. Seeing as you just registered, you should be getting the activation for the 150,000 player ID account, instead of the 80,000 player ID account.

Ah fair enough Rick. I went to the "Display Players" part and saw 'DragonForce' so I thought that was him.
Try using something different, like DragonForce1 or DR4G0NF0RC3. I'm not the best with names so you can ignore my suggestions ha.

doesn't that mean he would make another account (=multiple accounts)?

I suggest to write an e-mail to jitspoeATyahoo.com so he can help solving your problem

I don't think it would (at least I hope not) as I never got to activate any of the other accounts, I will post again if I do get banned for multiple accounts, just to warn others. There has been no problem so far, though.

Bump. I think this should be fixed. Maybe when an account is created, there should be a period of maybe a week? to activate the account, other wise it's deleted.

Or, just make it so that even if an account is not activated, the account name can not be used to make another account.

The activation error probably happens to a lot of newbies that are unaware of the forums, and it also probably drives them away from the game.

Meh.
