This post should have the title: "YOU FAILED!" :o ;D
but.. some of you guys know that i dont need those words
to make you something clear:
i saw a lot of posts down under the banlist saying that the community is dying and the game is already dead.
actually the game isn't dead.
newbies will start playing this game one day, like all of us did,
and maybe they will stuck on this excrement or not.
on the other side, you have to commit, that the community IS lost.
most guys don't play this game any longer because of various reason.
1 should be something like: "woaah! s*!t! this play only have slow steps in its improvement.
2 could be, that the majority of you flame.
the need to trade other people like excrement.
and this is actually your biggest mistake.
because of this, some guys start trying cheats.
just to know how it feels like to be a "legendz" which can see through walls. or a "snox" with a wonderful SIMULATED aim.
AND now being on their "skill" level, they can flame, too.
and pass their time saying arrogant things.
=> because of you (the guys who cheat) the community is dead. there is no reason to still playing this game, when the fun is lost a long time ago.
thats not a "i cry so much" post.
instead you should see this as a WAKE-UP call to all of you, guys.

Not really planB, this game is just too repetitive, and is getting boring for some people.

bad english, wisely spoken :o but i'm leaning with juiicy on this one. what i've learned from playing counter strike on my time being banned is that people play it because its advertised and modifications and new maps and things like that. i mean this game has mods but we've all played them one way or another. and the DM mode on this game doesnt work anymore. i think that was turned off in build 21. so u would need the files from that build to have a DM server. its just the fact that this game is running out of options.
basically what needs to happen is these feature votes need to start being implemented.

I think people cheat a lot because since this game is free, they think they can do what ever they want.
Maybe, we should have something like patrol officers that go around pubs, banning people who use cheats.

actually thats a pretty good idea what he says about admins. i don't think that it should be with a password thing because if someone has an admin password to a server and say they get into a fight with that owner. that guy can pass out the admin password and random people can come in and login with admin. what i think should happen to change this is to make it more like counter strike (admin wise). in counter strike admin is auto loaded through steam id's or ip addresses depending on how the owner of that server wants it. since we all have our special unique id's from the site it should be like that to the servers if the owner of that server wants to put an admin on that server then go to the site and get that persons unique ID and add it into the admin list. with the persons name next to it so if they abuse they can just take out that persons id instead of changing that password around and forgetting what the hell he changed it too.
cuz i know that i have admin to a number of servers and its hard to keep up with bans and stuff so the ban system for counter strike is also the same. people are banned by their unique id or the ip address which is WAY more convenient. because its easy as hell for one to just evade there ban here on dp because all they really ahve to do is go to a friends house and login. their accounts should be banned by their unique id as well. because then they have no chance of logging in and expecting to play on a server. which brings up more multi accounts. but it should be easy to tell if its a multi account because no one really keeps their mouth shut if they made one and will eventually tell someone.

You know what's sad but true? Some one who says banning players for cheating/breaking the rules is killing the game reports a hacker.

People have stopped playing this game because it's been almost the same for the past 4 years. I mean, if we look back at build 21 and see whats changed since then, not a lot. Ok, there has been bug fixes and general game improvements, but nothing that will keep and maintain players. Personally, each build should have something unique added to it, something that will make players think "I can't wait for this feature in build 33, going to be great!" - if players get this attitude, they will tell their friends... This is a pathetic example, but thousands of players continuously play Call of Duty because of prestige and honour; if Paintball 2 had something such as this, a way of distinguishing good players to bad players (perhaps earning 'points' for each game you play could spark something, and once you get to 10,000 'points' you unlock a new amazing gun that can't be picked up by other players... etc etc. We need something that'll keep the community that we currently have playing, and to do this jitspoe and other developers need to put something special into build releases. Personally, I don't care whether it takes 2 months for each build release - as long as it has a fantastic, new and interesting feature that will perhaps maintain players, it'll be worth it.
Players have got lots of ideas for the game, but implementing them is the hardest thing. If only jitspoe could create a somewhat almost bug-free build with hardly any errors, and then add amazing features in the next builds it would be fantastic...

partially right. I think the community would still be bigger, but it's very normal that players come and go.

Maybe some 'event' would unite the community back together? For example, the Global gamers DP League brought some clans back (I believe 9 teams from Europe, and NA).
It would probably work since the only thing anyone could do in this game is pub, or match which is rare nowadays.
A tournament or season of some sort would maybe bring some former clans/players back in this game to participate for some 'prizes'.
This is just an idea though.

Jits works on the game as he can, but don't forget he has a real job and some sort of life. If you want features to be implemented quicker, go donate to him using that new donate link (http://digitalpaint.org/donate.html) he put up on the main site.
Aside from that, the best things that could be done to help the game's development would be for other programmers to get more involved and for jits to open up the source code more. But I've already expressed these sentiments to him, and at the end of the day, it's his game and his choice. So I don't really think complaining about it will accomplish a whole lot. Instead, try contributing something positive, even if it's just a "hey jits, thanks for putting out b32, i'm glad you still work on the game."

There probably will be another GGDP League this year (or if not this year, maybe next -- who knows). Realize, tho, that all prizes before were solely from the goodness of Butta and Lore's hearts (they are SO generous). Want bigger prizes? I'd recommend pitching in some $$ to help out the league. After all, this is a free game, so you're lucky to get prizes at all.

Nani has more then 20 accounts (all know it)and he never was banned for it, and someone has 2 accs for 2-3 weeks and he got ban...

Report him, so committee can start their work.. or if you think that is so easy, you can ask for bein committee.
Paintball have very effective anti-cheat, just look on other games, where you get banned on one server and just go to next server without admin and start killing everyone... In paintball you will get global ban, so just stop talking everyone is using cheats... That's just like crying. If you see cheater, report him, and thats all. He'll be banned and don't come back so easily.

Anyway, idk why we start talking about this now, because i didn't saw anything new from my start in Paintball (b23). Only feature that i feel often is Autobalance. In 9 new builds and 3-4 years of development. We should do something to improve paintball instead of watching how it's dying (If we still like this game).

lol i can find more then five topics about nani ;) and yea, there you can walls on pubs how you wanna, but try to do it in some league or cup ;) and i understand, its hard to review who is cheating and who not, but its obv how someone grow up in one week ;)
btw about committe, i saw only jimmy who tried (maybe still trying)to change somethink.. 1+ for him

Maybe, there should be people where their player models are in like a police uniform to scare them. Maybe they use speed hacks because they see people trick jumping but they think it is speed hacks. Mabye this game should have a menu option that says "TUTORIALS", where people can learn how to do trick jumps and other skills. It should be big and obvious. It doesn't have to be video tutorials. It can be text.
I think there's already a feature vote for this. But I'm not sure.

As for the Nani/Jano case; it is of course obvious that they have tons of accounts, which is not the problem. The main problem is sorting everything out (also because they both refuse to speak about this theme), so Jitspoe can add a ban. If anyone can provide me logs where it is clear which accounts belong to Nani, and which belong to Jano, feel free to contact me.

When I got banned 3 years ago the game was doing downhill although there was still a bit of life in it. But now it is pretty much dead. There are about 3 or 4 active clans and it is a lucky day if you can see 50 people in game at the same time.
As for the committee, I don't know about now but a few years ago they were complete garbage. And if the committee were smart they would ask jitspoe to look at logins to the global login server and just ban their hostmasks.

American match scene has maybe 2 clans, and euro has probably about 6 active teams. So the clanscene has declined a lot, but it's been on a steady decline for a while now. But the pub scene seems more active then before. But, it's filled with almost all europeans.
Right now there's 94 people online at the same time. If you go on during the day (when it's around dinner time for euros) there's definitely 150+ on pubs, with maybe 1 match going on. So to North Americans it's completely dead.

There's only around 5 of QeHs members that are active aswell and in the NA scene only people I've seen trying to get matches lately is mephine's team.

You can't expect one person to single-handedly do everything around this place. If the communitty had a better attitude torwards the small improvements and actually gave their input it'd be a lot easier.
On a side note... This game isn't exactly newbie-friendly. Small stuff like official tutorials that teach newcomers how to strafe would be quite helpfull and easy to make/implement IMO. Sadly most of the features on the Feature Vote List (http://dplogin.com/dplogin/featurevote/) never get over the voting step, so most people just get bored and quit the game.

Yeah the NA scene seems pretty much dead.. well in irc there is just qehs from euro and now ive been trying to get kuc more active.. so the irc scene is dead if u want match go spam 3on3 in pubs. i see many people from my country on the pubs ( who are actually pretty good) when i say get in irc everyone just says no..

but it would be nice if the old clans will be more active(DaRk`, kuc, oxz, q)... The game would be more funny and interessant.

Old clans probably would stay more active if they could get matches fast and on IRC instead of having to go to multiple pubs spamming for matches. I'm sure Kuc and other euro would stay active if all/most of the 'pub clans' that are relatively good got their teams on IRC, since there's plenty of euro teams in pubs that could make IRC seem a lot more active.

yes. when i come irc and nobody there i just leave and dont bother searching for match in pubs.. and then again the same day.. and then eventually i am having a 1-3 months break from dp2

The simple fact of the matter is this. DPBall is slowly loosing life. But there are still tho's who care obviously. And as for Jitspoe im sure he does all he can but the man has to have a life. this game isn't his life.. maybe his life's work but not his life so with that said this is his baby, he can't just go giving every programmer the source code for the fact that u can't trust everyone on dpball. he can't just hand his life work over to someone and instantly trust them no to mess it up and set him back. Alot of ppl here have great ideas, but u got to look at it this way how long would it take jitspoe to implement these ideas into the game. Some of ur ideas would take complete reconstruction of this game and im sure with a real job and his life he don't have that kind of time.. And don't get me wrong a tutorial would be nice for newcomers but i don't see a tutorial breathing life back into this game.
ALSO don't bash the committee, they do what they can, maybe it might not be justice in ur eyes but them again maybe ur just coming off half roostered and don't know the whole situation. They do the best they can with what they have. And isn't that the point of hacks? to try and outwit the good guyz? so there dealing with everyday chancing and reworking of hacks so there not detectable...
But the thing thats killing DPBall the most is this.. GROWING UP, alotta ppl played this game when they was younger, Xbain, Warwulf, DT, Bob, etc. butttttttt they grew up, had bills got jobs, either got married or had kids. they grew out of the game. With this game its either all or nothing, either u devote the time and get in a good clan and match or ur stuck pubbing it up.

the dp life had a big plummet after the last 10 people got banned thats when everyone else started to quit but its "Very slowly" but "Gradually" coming back

The community could be doing something to help the game. I found out about this game from a person on another forum that had a link to the DP site in their forum signature, so... DP players could work on promoting the game.
If anyone wants to contribute $$ to me, I could put up an ad on Facebook.

speaking about facebook... it's kinda disappointing to see that apparently nobody wants to like the facebook group you established last week (or is it 2 weeks ago already?)
Considering the amount of players who are constantly complaining that this game is dieing, it shouldn't be too hard to get 25 "likes" on facebook ::)

You can post feedback on the thread. In case you haven't found out, this game uses the Quake 2 engine, so there are limitations for the game.

@Foxracing - I see a lot of pub players that are actually pretty good and small stuff like tutorials and better guidance throughout the game would be an improvement. If more people, let's say newbies, would start using IRC it would be quite helpfull since they'd get the hang of the game more easily through matching and hanging out with older players. Which is how most of us did evolve at this game.

now i finally stop care all about this game ... put some cheat on, go to pub, go obs, push p and start chase and check, get laugh :D
and btw dont forgot change acc, cause people will hide more if they see you on same server... u just got recpect ;)
