Title: Help! lag problems!

Ok guys, I need some help. My connection is doing fine, downloads are good speeds for a dailup (5k average).  However, when I go into pball (alpha) everything is going fine for the first few minutes, I have a 180 average ping. Then all the sudden it goes off the charts, 600-1000 ping.  It never goes back after that.  The past several days, I have attempted to play, but every single time my ping goes crazy.  This has only been a recent problem.  Keep in mind my connection to everything else is great.  Is this a problem w/ pball?  Jitspoe told me to change config because that is equal to reloading the game... but is it really? should I reload the game completely? I have pinged the er33t servers and im getting good response.  WHAT IS GOING ON HERE?!!? Someone help me, cause I'm out of commission until I can get this problem fixed.

Have you tried connecting to other servers?

Jit: yes I have, same results, once my ping spikes, it wont go down no matter which server i get on.

Brew: tried other games, like generic quake2?
