Uncompleted Maps...
Hey guys,
i am really shocked aboud so many nice but uncompleted Maps.
Please try in next time to make first a final version of your map and then you next beta maps.
For example sBi, he have so many awesome maps, but they are still b3 or b4... (krakatit, space, pakistan, scoth, dcl, tasmania etc)
i hope u think so too.
Greetz, Momo.

Yes, you're right, but you can't 'rule' them to make first a final map of their map and then start a new one, because they have many ideas of maps and don't want to wait for some final maps or something like this and then make some new ones. You can't put these idea into one map sometimes and then new maps occurs. ;) I think so, dunno what sibi or someone else is thinking. :)

I see an active role for the mapping committee here...

Yes, of course.
I see an active role for the mapping committee here...
How do you mean this? (:

This game has lots of maps. All the maps are a big part of the game and they're very important for it. But next to the better maps there're unfortunately many maps with fundamental bugs, misalignments, other problems or just unfinished ones. There're also many maps with less obvious things like "why do I look in front of a wall after respawn" or "why does my team has worse items". This can be fixed for better balanced maps, too. All in all it's very important to improve the current maps/maplists. Jitspoe accepted to establish a mapping committee for that, because it needs a lot of work. The mapping committee will mainly improve the current maps.
Maybe, with time, we can fill the server rotations with solid, fun, good-looking, accessible maps that will keep new players coming back for more.
Some examples of things the committee may have to work on:
- enforcing some hard standards for (match) maps
- selecting the maps that meet the new standards and creating maplists
- creating files for each map (ent, mapinfo, mapshot, etc.)
- fixing up popular maps that doesn't meet the new standards and gradually replace the old maps
- improving and finishing eternal beta maps with much potential
So if you're interested in helping out on the mapping committee, please respond to the following questions. BSP experiences would be helpful.
-
arh, i've already responsed the questions (:
-
Heei must map-Committee decide only whether one can have on mapcommitee in part, or is it automatically in the map-Committee if you have answered the questions?
Thank you, Burnie
P.s Fail gramma -> Google Translate tranlate this short text :D

The questions in there are your "application" (Deutsch: Bewerbung), answering them does not automatically mean you can join the mapping committee. I assume the mapping committee will contact you, in case they are interested in taking you in, based on your application.
-
okey, i hope you will decide soon if i can join the mapping committee ;)
-
Ye i too (: Because we will correct maps ;)

i have found another example for that much beta maps.
In the Forum Mapping are 70 sites of theards and in the category "Completed Maps" just 2 sites.

I don't know but I think that there are some more completed maps but not in the right category yet.
-
yes, it can be also :)

_burnt made a map called Urban Night. It is a very great map but since it is still in beta testing it is only on beta servers and it rarely shows up in rotation.
This means that when ever I play it no one ever shows up.
The map lacks items/weapons and there for needs a whole ton of them.
This map desperately needs CO2 containers.
If he does that then Urban Night will be ready for final release and will be placed on pubs/speeds and more people will play it.
I am tired of playing it with bots.
