Title: maps with secrets

i was wondering if anyone has came across maps that have secrets like the secret room in reminissions the or gy scenes in carpathian crimethink and midevil siegecastles hidden triggers for funny sfx post if know of 1 pls ty

Download SDCUP. Open SDCUP. Go into secret way beside flag. Not going to bother making a demo/taking a ss seeing as you didn't.

Secret room ... it is a SECRET you have to find it! takes all the fun out of a secret when everyone knows about it at once. I only say, post a hint saying it has a secret on a map then let the player FIND it.

i went in noclip observer mode and looked through the WHOLE map and found no secret room

It's next to the map. I'm not sure if jitspoe was planning to add a jail there...

ive done extensive searching through the map in noclip mode and its not there.

It's not a secret you can walk in as you can do in carpathian, sdcup or remenissions, though :P

That's where the spawn points used to be - you'd spawn in a room full of equipment then teleport into the map.

Then Calrathan added spawning with weapon functionality, so the rooms became obsolete.  I guess I never deleted them.

Why the desire for secret rooms? If I had any idea how to make a map with the bsp tools id gladly make a map for you with secrets and give it to you. Sadly even to this day I have never played Quake to learn this engine tools so am lost when it comes to making maps.

rofl. it means you cant get into them. you were supposed to spawn in them but a function got added into the mapping system? i'm 75% sure thats what it means.
